If I cannot have a cup of coffee in the morning or a glass of wine with dinner, THEN MORMONISM IS TOO MUCH WORK FOR ME.

There is more but I do not have enough time to write about it today.

Kia, you made some assumptions about me. A glass of wine with dinner is not DRUNK. A cup of coffee with breakfast is harmless and no work. I do not smoke so I do not have to worry about going outside. Living like a normal human being is not work.

No its not too much work. But the effort expended would be much better utilized in a Christian pursuit with out the lies and the cultish dogma of the con man... Joseph Smith. Mormonism is one of the biggest scams, cons, bunko capers, that has ever been pulled on man. Smith was a previously convicted bunko artist ( con man). He used witchcraft (moon stones) to find the so called tablets of Moroni. Witchcraft is a contradiction to Christianity and therefore Joseph Smith was not of God. Period Although the Mormons are very clean living people they have a false prophet. Also they believe man can become Gods like Smith claimed he was and followed by Brigham Young and many more. The Mormons have a strange mixture of truth from the Bible mixed with Masonic ritual and of course the out and out lies and con of Joseph Smith and his book of Mormon

You ask a loaded question. The non believers are going to make fun of you and those that aren't Mormon have very little to go by. I was raised a a Adventist and became a Catholic as an Adult. This took work on my part, I had to learn like a child about being a Catholic, I am still a Catholic. There are things in the Mormon faith that none Mormons do not understand and to them it seems like a burden, I will give you an example the none Mormons have no Idea or key word CONCEPT of under garments. To ask none believers is like asking for a none answer on the other hand to ask another Mormon, really isn't the answer either, why they can't understand why you would question. I will give you the best advice that anyone can give another person when it comes to religion, If you want to be a Adventist, Catholic, or a Mormon it is going to take work on your part. If it is your choice to be a what ever then be the best what ever hat you can be, don't be a part time Mormon or Catholic be it 100%, Your reward will be far greater than you realize at this time in your life. If you have to work a little bit toward it then you will understand so much more than if it was just given to you. I guess what I am trying to tell you is that I don't agree that Mormonism is to much work, not if you believe in the dogma and Doctrine, May God bless you, from a Catholic

Not really. I don't have to work at picking a good brand of coffee, making a pot of coffee, washing the pot after the coffee is gone, or washing the cup after drinking the coffee. I also don't have to find the right bottle of wine to go with the food I'm eating, take the time to make sure it's the right temperature, find the "right glass", open it, drink it, wash the glass, rotate the bottle so the cork doesn't dry out... wow, all that work just for "proper" coffee and wine? Every moment I'd be spending doing just those things for coffee in the morning and wine at dinner, I could be doing something I think is fun.

Well not really.

How much work does it take to NOT drive to the liquor store? I never worry about being to drunk to drive so it doesn't take much work to NOT locate a designated driver. And then you don't have to worry about the hang over. Then you don't have to worry about cleaning up the mess you made the night before when you were out of control drunk.

It also doesn't take much work to NOT make a fresh pot of coffee every morning.

If you have to walk outside every time you need a smoke, because you are controlled by a nasty habit, that seems like a lot of work to me.

If you lead a chaste life, there is generally no driving to the doctor to get tested for STD's or taking the medication to treat them. You have little worry about unwanted pregnancies. Think of all the money a single person can save by not needing contraceptives.

I could really go on and on, but I think you get the point.

It really is not a whole lot of work to be a Mormon. But I am exhausted thinking of how much work it would be to Not be a Mormon.

Being good takes a lot more work and effort than being evil. So when you go to the judgement seat and you are asked how come you didn't follow the commandments...just tell him you were too busy drinking coffee

I think that the road to heaven is steep and hard. It takes work, or it wouldn't be something worth having. I'm sorry you have these difficulties. If there's anything I can do for you, let me know. Good luck!

"Too much work" is a poor excuse for not following God. The Devil makes us think those things. Watch out for those kinds of thoughts. Mormonism is really an very admirable religion.

None of those practices, nor indeed much of anything in the way of practice, is prescribed by the Book of Mormon; all of that was added on later. The reason for rejecting Mormonism is not that the practices are too much work -- it is that the basic theology is irredeemably silly.

Way too much for so little in return ,IMHO,and based on a refuted history of the New World, but people do get a sense of belonging. Live by grace and trust Christ's promist that "the Gates of Hell will not prevail[against Peter and Christ's Church that He founded].
