Any social networking site can be a good place to meet a potential date/future wife if you're careful. My son and his wife of two years met on MySpace. My husband of 4 years and I met on a free online dating site. We all worked it the same way. Chat online for a while, exchange emails, chat on the phone for a few weeks, then agree to meet in a public place. I actually found meeting potential dates online a lot easier and safer than meeting in a bar where some whacko could easily follow me home, and did once. Hard to follow someone home when you don't know who they are. Good luck!

Just depends...unless you are a complete idiot, you should be able to tell a good woman from a psycho biotch...Most of my myspace "friends" are people I know personally anyway or that I have been chatting with online for a long time on particularly Yahoo IM...There are a few I've never met, and probably won't since they are half way across the country from me...

Umm... no. Myspace is a playground for sexyual predators. The internet can be decieving in ways people would never imagine. It is possible that the person you find attractive may turn out to be some fifty-something sexual predator that lives by his computer tracking down like 10 people at a time. I would highly advise not to try it because it is very risky. If you want to find a date, try a dating site like eharmony.com.

no. what if the person you met on myspace and potentially started dating turned out to be some 45 year old man that was a sex offender, wanted in 3 states, trying to look for his next rape? its just not really that dependable for this.

There are better sites around. Faceparty is one. I used to meet girls on there, and contrary to popular belief I never once met a psycho predator. You've just got to play smart. Talk online LOTS before you agree to meet, and best of all get a phone number and talk on the phone. You're likely to notice that the voice on the end of the line is dirty old man by that point.
I actually met my now fiancee on faceparty, and she's from 5000 miles away so... just play safe and take your time over it all.

There is no "perfect" dating site to go to. Match.com, nerve.com, lavalife.com -- whatever you pick, it depends on just the luck of the draw. You just have to learn how to read the ads and not to sell yourself short on yours. And remember, everyone, EVERYONE online exaggerates and fibs about something so don't expect to meet someone live and it's all music and roses. The first date is usually the best way to figure out how much of that profile was real vs. fantasy and where to go from there.
Good luck!

i would be very very careful with this, go on there by all means but dont arrange to meet anyone until you get to know them. im always wary about chatting to people they may not be who they say they are no matter how convincing they are!
