Chase dreams often stem from feelings of anxiety in your walking life. The way we respond to anxiety and pressure in real life is typically manifested as a chase dream. Running is an instinctive response to physical threats in our environment. Often in these dream scenarios, you are being pursued by some attacker, who wants to hurt or possibly kill you. You are running away, hiding, or trying to outwit your pursuer. Chase dreams may represent your way of coping with fears, stress or various situations in your waking life. Instead of confronting the situation, you are running away and avoiding it.Ask yourself who is the one chasing you and you may gain some understanding and insight on the source of your fears and pressure.

The pursuer or attacker who is chasing you in your dream may also represent a part of yourself. Your own feelings of anger, jealousy, fear, and possibly love, can assume the appearance of threatening figure. You may be projecting these feelings onto the unknown chaser. Next time you have a chase dream, turn around and confront your pursuer. Ask them why they are chasing you.
A more direct analysis of chase dreams is the fear of being attacked. Such dreams are more common among women than men, who may feel physically vulnerable in the urban environment. These dreams are inspired by fears of violence and sexual assault in which we are so over-exposed from the media. The violence that the media portrays magnifies our fears and how at risk we all are.

Don't worry; a few of these previous dream interpretations sound a little over-zealous. The most probable cause(s) for your dreams are pretty simple. It all boils down to your day-to-day lifestyle.

Unpleasant dreams are often caused by things as simple as inadequate sleep, prolonged stress, and personal insecurity. And I would venture to guess that the past weeks have not been the best of times for you.

A good way to find out if stress and exhuastion are an issue is to use this strategy: Mentally picture yourself on vacation at some great destination, such as the Caribbean or whatever you choose. Picture yourself in total relaxation, free from work/school/etc for weeks and weeks, without a care in the world, and doing something that you'd really like to be doing. Now, do you think you'd be having nightmares when you're that happy? Probably not. But experiement with this by giving yourself a mini-vacation. Try to get yourself some downtime and treat yourself well for a few days if you can afford to. Make an effort to get more sleep and to relax more. Also, some light-to-moderate exercise should help boost your spirits. Your stress level should go down and the nightmares should leave. But moreover, you'll probably just be happier all around. Low stress and adequate sleep can boost a person's quality of life--and sleep--tremendously.

It's highly unlikely that these dreams will come true. Have no fear, but know this. Your dreams do have meaning.
Your dreams tell me your very afraid of failure in something related to work or school. You feel you have no control over your life and you desperately want to be independent.
You've been struggling to keep some emotions bottled up in you for fear if you let them out you will loose someone close to you. Someone very close. I think this person is your father or other male person your close to.
You can take control of these dreams.
Your mind dose not not need to be assaulted in such a manor.
Check out the link below, I think you'll find it very helpful.
There is much going on in your life right now, I sense a lot of pressure. You need some sort of release.
You need to go to a secluded place and just scream and cry for a few hours. Once you find a way to let off the pressure you've bottled in you, you'll be right as rain.
Peace be with you. I will send some angles your way later tonight who will help guard your mind while you sleep.

Occasionally we have nightmare based on our stress level and things that we may be going through. The shooter could represent something or someone, the fact that you are running, from what or who? Who are you hiding from? There isn't enough info for me to make a diagnoses. Or it could mean your having a bad dream. Dreams are oneiric (hope I spelled right) and can be changed so, if you discovery it's just a night mare go and kick some shooter Blank, blank, blank.

The dreams you describe are common and normal. Clearly, something in your waking life feels threatening emotionally, not necessarily physically.
All dreams are in metaphor, and represent issues that are happening your current life, offering you an insight or solution to a problem. Recurrent dreams reflect an unresolved (unfinished) issue in your life. Notice when you have the dream and see what happened that day BEFORE you had the dream. Your emotional state and your interactions of the day are the keys to meaning(s).
Your chosen symbols have meaning to YOU, not something you can look up in a dream dictionary.

I know its sounds funny, but try not to eat anything heavy 8 hours before you go to sleep...must be light and comfortable.

Another thing is the chasing and the fear that is generating from inside you. NO one is there trying to get you, its you trying to get yourself to pay attention to the details in your life...maybe you are too busy having fun with your friends or your daily small things that you are leaving a lot of important things that might effect your life undone ...so you worry that it might catch up with you....

You will not fall unless you don't look in front of you or watch where you are going.

nightmares come from a spirit of fear, saying scripture out loud before bedtime stops them, psalms 91:11, levitius 26:6 and john 14:27.
