I live in NY state and I have a permit. I 17 years old boy and I'am plainning to get my license next mouth. I don't feel scared when I drive is just that I make some mistakes sometimes that I can't keep in mind.I tryed to be more careful but everytime I drive, I either make mistakes day, and the next day, I either make more mistakes or one less mistakes When I srive and I swear I was being careful.Today, I went to a highway and there was a yield sing, I though Yield means to slow down but my pain in the *** brother it wasn't and we complain about it in the parking park at some mall.Everytime I tryed to change lines, I turned on the lights to turn to the right and I was looking at the mirror to make sure there are no cars. He said that I can't trust with the mirrors alone because he siad that there maybe a car behind or right next to me when I drive but that doesn't make any since.I see the cars with the mirrors too which I did and If I look back quick too, I may have slow down anyways

It may make me slow down anyways and I would have to wait again before going into the anouther lane. No matter how fast I look back. So, why is this happening and why my borther is a pain in the neck?

Yield means watch for others, yield to them.
Yes, you need to check your blind spot before switching lanes.
Please go back to school and stay off the road in the meantime. Thanks.

Try to relax a little bit more. Read the manual again a few times about what the signs mean, as it may help.

Do check your blind spots, because the mirror doesn't always show the car that may be right next to you. That is why we have to look before we make a lane change.

Relax, you going to do alright just stay calm and you will be alright. You need to just think a little before you do what your going to do .

Even if you think that your going to slow down a little don't worry, but do look over your shoulder check your blind spots. You will soon find out that you will be glad that you looked since, it will keep you from side swiping another car.

I'm sure your going to be just fine. Go over the manual again, read, read it several times. knowing the signs will help you to relax better too.

You will be just fine, just relax some more and don't be so hard on you self.

lot's of luck. It's going to be great.

Driving is a wonderful and fabulous privilege, an exhilirating thrill that nothing can duplicate except maybe flying.
Lets get back to your question. Read, think, read again...

Hmm, the problem is your inexperience. Driving means the sole use of your own judgment. Tell your brother to shut up, stop being a backseat driver.

Get a real teacher, such as the one from a driving school , and one who will praise the good things you do and simply point out with a sharp tone of voice the not so brilliant moves.
Try not to go on a freeway until you have mastered the backroads. and regular roads.
It takes time to learn the responsibility of driving a motor vehicle. Cut yourself some slack.

Get an older driver, like a successful cab or delivery person to give you some tips on safe driving. Start with a really good, experienced driver's instruction, then as you get a little older, you will become a better, more confident driver. The trick not speed!! It is: CONTROL & CONCENTRATION & COURTESY, the three c's my dad taught me!! I call it DEFENSIVE driving.

did you check the code? Seems like your headlights might need to be reset.
