Nope. 5'6" is a perfect height. :) I'm 5'6" and I've found that it's quite nice actually. When you date, you'll probably date someone taller than you, and you'll be just the right height. The only problem is that you still probably have issues with the top shelves of cupboards. I do. :)
Oh, I hit 5'6" at 16, and then stopped. I'm 26 now, and still 5'6".

I was 5'6" when I was 13. Now, at just over a week from celebrating my 30th birthday, I'm six feet tall. Overall, I like being tall. It's part of who I am. I can use the cupboards over my refridgerator; The top shelves in my cupboards.
There are times, though, when it's not so fun. Looking at skirts and dresses knowing that they will be too short. Men gushing over me, just because I'm tall and thin. Setteling for pants that are a couple of inches too short because it's better than nothing. (I'll wear pants that are too short because that's more modest than a skirt.) Hitting my head to the point that i don't even notice it any more. However, it's par to for the course and I don't mind.
Besides, finding pants that are too long or wearing heels because I can is also part of the fun.
Accept you for you, because you're the only you you will have.

Not at all ... I'm 5'9" and I love being tall. Tall women project confidence and authority. You can be self reliant and not need a guy to get something from the top shelf. You'll look killer in jeans with nice long legs. Think about all the options you will have in prom (formal) dresses! Being tall is awesome. Embrace it, enjoy it.
I know you are probably thinking that it stinks to be taller than a lot of guys you know, right??? Let that go. At 16, their growth is just starting to hit overdrive. When you come back from summer brake, a lot of those guys will have added inches to their frame. Not every guy wants a little toy on their arm. They do not want to stoop over to hug a girl. There are A LOT of boys and men who appreciate a woman who can look them in the eye.
5'6" is a great height for your age. Just love who you are.

Are you NUTS???? Do you have any idea how impossible it is for short women to get compliments are their "sexy - long" legs???
We don't have them because we are not tall. Put on open toe two inch heels with a sleek pair of slacks or jeans and a cute top - you will be beating the men off with a bat!!
Grow your hair out to match and you have a tough combination for other women to compete with.
I say - hope for a growth spurt and enjoy ALL of the attention.
Anyone else saying that you are too tall is jealous!!

I'm 5' 7" and I consider myself average. It's the perfect height because I rarely have to shorten pants! I can reach to the top shelves. I see no inconvenience aside from a few guys have considered me too tall when I wear high heels. Ha-ha

At 16, you probably won't grow much more. I wouldn't expect to gain more than an inch, if that even. 5'6 isn't really tall, it's just a little taller than average.

Beleive me that is nothing to being close to being over tall for being a girl. There is lady's out there that are way more taller then you. So dont think your some kind of shrek.

Heck no!!! My daughter is 16 and she is 5'7. I am only 5'4, I wish I was that tall. Its really not even that tall. It is perfect. Be glad!!! You are probably done growing and will st ay that height. Be happy about it!

Not at all!!! I'm 17 and 5'6. I love my height cuz it works to my advantage in numerous ways. This height is average for many girls today. Be proud of it!!!!

Nope your not too tall. Guys might seem short to you right now, but they grow slower than girls. I'm 5'4' I'd like to be as tall as you.
Girl, at that height you can be a model.
