All I can say is watch out for those pesky ALIEN'S!!! Yep they were the cause of GLOBAL COOLING in the 1970's. The oldest question known to man kind.
The answer is simple,
you can't put a new born anything on the street/in the wild and expect it to find food, shelter, warmth.
Therefore, it had to be a full grown Chicken with a full grown Rooster to create an egg, to ultimate create more chickens.
Adam and Eve werent put on the earth as infants cause then it would take too long to create more life.
the "big bang" theory didn't put creatures on earth as new borns, if that were the case, we would be a heck of a lot more intellegent than we are.

The egg, you didn't ask if they were chicken eggs. dinosaurs lived a long time before the chickens and they laid eggs. thus it can be said that the eggs came before chickens
