No that's President Kennedy. You can feel free to call on God anytime anywhere, he never runs out of love for you.
And even if you are ungrateful, he is not petty like man he will always forgive and always renew His love for you.
He is not small minded or resentful like humans, He does not give with strings attached.
We serve others out of gratitude and to be more like Him. Not becuase we can earn His love.

Someone or something allows me to have an able body and an able mind.
I use those to help children and adolescents. I am a therapist. Is that selfish? Maybe I'm inadvertently helping God by guiding some of the struggling children He created, so that maybe later in life they are more ready to accept Him.
Or maybe there is no God, and I'm just doing this out of altruism.
Or maybe I'm doing it because I feel better about myself after I help others.
People have all sorts of different takes on it. You're entitled to your own opinion.

I think you have a good point. We do need to focus on using our gifts to help prosper the Kingdom of Heaven and to glorify God.
At the same time, there is nothing I will ever be able to do to pay back God for everything he's done for me. I have been in countless situations where I really felt like God intervened. More than I can count really.
I think God sort of expects us to ask for His help, in fact he tells us to have faith when we come to Him in prayer.
So no, God doesn't really have man's outlook on things, at the same time we need to all try to be more then just takers.

But God did say... "ask and ye shalt receiveth, Seeketh and ye shall find..." no?
That is what has given every believer the divine right to ask from God WITHOUT conditions, as it was his promise. Unless of course, in another part of the Great Book lies the terms and conditions clause for asking, receiving and finding...
I certainly hope not... coz that would make it all so Divorce Court proceedings.... the whole fine print thing

very good job of channeling John F Kennedy. I do think that we take God for granted, like a Santa Claus ("Oh God, give me this and that...) But we have God's grace. We try to spread the good news about the gospel and do right...but we can be selfish even in that (if I do that, then I may get this...)

God is supposed to be omnipotent, so why would he need my help? And according to the bible, deeds will not get anyone into heaven. If you wish to preach to people, at least have the sense to know what you are talking about.
Remember the famous bit that says "Ask and you shall recieve"? I don't remember the next verse saying "but only if you've done something for me first".

Our lives should be a continual act of worship to the ONE who gave His all for us. Prayer is not getting God ready to our will, it is getting us ready to do His. We are not saved by our works, but once saved we are to do the works that He has prepared for us to do before the creation of the world- are we? I pray so.

God doesn't want our help. He requires us to practice evangelism and to love Him and show others of His love. However, God wants us to come to Him for everything because He loves us. Nothing is to big or to small for God and all He wants in return is our eternal love.

You don't have to do anything for God. God can help himself..........but there are people in this world who can't help themselves. we need to help these people........that's what God wants from us. it's called "service".
