I beleive its my mollers that are causing the pain and throbbing, from the top and bottom. I would normally take the gel caines to help numb the pain, and then it would just go away and not hurt. But now, those just don't help. I can't see a dentist till after the holiday weekend. What can anyone sugguest to help me easy the pain and help me get some sleep. The pain feel like someone hit me so hard on my face that it hurts from my mouth all the way to my ear. I am not able to swallow any pills at all, I can crush them if needed.

The only thing I can think of is, if it is indeed your tooth, and not gums, or your jaw, then most toothaches come from infection, believe it or not. Go to your local ER, or call your family doctor and get a prescription for antibiotics (keflex or something like that). Within the first 12 hours you should notice the pain subsiding, if it is indeed an infection. The last time I had a toothache, I got prescribed antibiotics and pain pills,a nd i never even took the pain pills, cause the antibiotics healed the infection and stopped the pain. Hope this helps!

Go to a local dentist and explain your situation. Offer to clean the office or help in any way possible in exchange for dental work. See if there is a local dental college that will do the work free. Try putting a whole clove on the sore spot to see if that will ease the pain. I certainly sympathize with you. A toothache is pure misery.

Try some whiskey. No joke. It helps alot. Soak a piece of paper towel, cloth, or the like in whiskey, then apply it around the gum area of the teeth that are sore. It will ease the pain and you might actually get some sleep.

But if you have taken any Tylenol or any other products containing acetaminophen within the last 24 hours, don't use whiskey or any other alcohol.

Tylenol, advil, or ibuprophen (spelling?). I had jaw, ear, and headaches from my 4 wisdom teeth and ibuprophen works every time. Or drop by the pharmacy counter and see what they suggest. If you can't swallow, I would make a trip to the Er or doc. Good luck!
