It's almost impossible to get enough iron from foods, because even if you eat 100% of the RDA, the body can only absorb about 10-20%
The are two different types of digestible iron in food:
1. hemo iron, found in red meat seafood and poultry, and
2. non-hemo iron found in breads, fruits, breakfast cereals, vegetable, legumes (e. g. baked beans), nuts and eggs.
You need both

Eating dark green leafy vegetables like spinach or collard greens, fish high in good fat like tuna and salmon -- as well some seafood like shrimp or clams, fortified whole grain cereals and breads are great (try some raisin bran for breakfast or whole wheat bread for sandwiches), dark meat poultry like skinless chicken or turkey thighs or legs, lean pork and beef, legumes like chickpeas or black beans (dry or canned), and any soy product, such as firm tofu.

Leafy greens. I have anemia and I have to eat a lot of salad to keep my iron levels neutral. (It's really too bad I couldn't drop a few pounds eating so much salad! lol)
