Someone who actually saw results with proactiv suggested that the reason that it may not have worked for others is becuase they may have overused or misused the product. She had overused the product before but found that when she used it correctly she saw great results.
I was told to use a dime size amount of cleanser, a cotton swob of the toner, and another dime size amount of the lotion. When used in these amounts could proactiv actually be effective??

Yes, those are about the correct amounts and it should be used no more than twice daily. Using more of the product or more often could 1. dry out your skin or 2. dry out your skin so much that you end up producing more oil to counteract it and break out even more.
Just use the correct amounts and give it a little bit of time (a few weeks at least). I have had wonderful results with this product!

Yes, but that should be understandable. I have been using Proactiv for two years and at first I didn't like the results and thought it made it worse, but the more made it a habit and the more I got use to using it properly the better it worked. That means the right amounts and the right times per day. Now, my skin is doing good and I only break out a little (one or two white heads) during my period, but it's usually good.

I really only need to use the cleanser daily to avoid break outs now, but whenever I break out I use all three and the mask. :D

Hope I helped.

I actually know a couple of girl friends who have used it and do not like the results. Well, actually, according to them, there are no results at all....They finally returned the products.

I think it depends on the type of acne you have. I tried (followed directions EXACTLY) and it did not improve my complexion at all. I finally visited a dermatologist and found that I had cystic acne, which must be treated from the inside via oral antibiotics. Superficial acne can be treated with topical.

Yes...I would not have gotten thru my teens with the clear face I had without proactiv...you must use it correctly or else it won't work properly.

trust me, it will be the best thing you will have ever done for your face.

ANYTHING is effective if you use it the right way.
Really, it takes 3-4 weeks to acutually see results.
