just recently my cat started to pee on my bed every once in a while. I stopped letting her in our room unsupervised, and just this morning she did it again! nothing has changed, there is nothing new, and I havn't changed anything around. she snuck in quickly and did it. she has 2 cat boxes, and I clean them everyday. not only that, our bed shouldn't smell dirty to her because I wash our stuff at least every other day. and she's actually peed on my hubby, during the night on his legs, and then by his head. I don't knowif she's trying to be protective, or what. I am pregnant, so I don't know if that has anything to do with it either. Any suggestions?

I understand urinary tract infection is for concern, but the vet said that it would be small amounts of urine at a time. and my cat is going LARGE amounts, like to just relieve herself...........rrrrrrrrrr

My sister's cat does this when she has a bladder or urinary tract infection. When cats have an infection like this, it's painful for them to urinate, so they begin to associate the litter box with pain. That's why they seek out other areas to pee.

I would take your cat to the vet to determine if she has a urinary tract, bladder, or kidney infection. Do it soon because if kitty has a blockage, that can create serious problems. The vet should be able to tell you if it's related to urine ph or bacteria. In the past, our vet (and my sister's vet) has either prescribed antibiotics, prescription food, or both. Good luck!

She probably has a urinary tract or bladder infection so you should take her to the vet. Wash everything she has peed on in vinegar as plain clothes detergent won't get the smell out (cats have way better smelling than us, so even though it won't smell to you, she'll still smell it). You have to get the smell of urine out so she doesn't keep repeating the inappropriate peeing once she is healthy.

If on the off chance she doesn't have something physically wrong with her, she is probably upset about some change in her lifestyle or circumstances. I would talk to your vet about options for behaviour modification, or you could try an animal communicator (google that word and you'll find a whole bunch).

I dont' think my usual suggestions apply here. I'm stumped! You clean the boxes thoroughly, you don't let her into your room and she's fine peeing in her boxes, but the second you leave the door open, she's peeing on your bed. She may still smell the pee from prior times. It's hard to get that smell out and even when we don't smell it, the animals can. Their sense of smell is SO much greater than ours. You need to soak the area she peed on with an enzyme cleaner that you can get from pet co. I think it's called simple solutions. Let dry, spray again and wash. If you SEE the cat doing this, use a bottle of water and give her a squirt. Or take her to the litter box. This is a hard one. You may need to consult a vet. It sounds like she's marking her territory! Silly cat! That's YOUR territory! Maybe she doesn't like it so clean smelling? Actually, that could be it. She doesn't like your fabric softner. Try a different scent. Wouldn't hurt.

Last year my beautiful Manx cat Theodore went out for the evening and never came back. I love cats and the house didn't feel the same without one, so I picked up Lola from a rescue centre. She was very frightened and would pee all over the house. I found Cat Spraying No More on the internet and the techniques worked almost immediately. I haven't had a problem with Lola since. Amazing!

Can't stop your cat peeing in the house? Then worry no more...

has there been a change at home. New baby, new routine new anything? if so it may mean he hates the routine, the new baby etc. Jealousy...

My aunt had a cat - a himalayan for two years before her son was born - jealousy set in and kitty peed on beds for the longest time. (doors to the bedrooms therefore had to be kept closed at all times ... even until that sweet adorable kitty was put down (at this point kitty was 14 years old)

Edit: just read that last part... you are pregnant... change is coming in kitty's life..... that's why she's doing it. JEALOUSY. Make sure you pay lots of attention to your cat (although baby is #1) you still need to pay attention to kitty. (think of your cat as an older child - LOL)

take your cat to the vets because i think it could have a kidney infection,my nieces cat used to do this and thats what the vet found either that or it needs to be fixed. until you come up with something, put the litterbox in another room preferably the bathroom or the basement and close the door behind you,put the cats water and food in there as well.

you may be washing the sheets but the smell is still in the mattress get rid of it and ever time you cat gets on your new bed you have to let the cat know that it is not welcome and kick it off .if you start to let her do it again the same thing will happen

Eeehhh! Keep her out of your room, shut the door. She is punishing you; for whatever... Did you scrub the boxes clean; sometimes residue orders are distasteful.

Could she be ill? A urinary problem? Have your Vet check her out.

Cat peed on the bed more than once and you still have it?

Taking that into consideration, no, I don't have any suggestions.
