Merely saying that "Science says" without being specific shows how ignorant people are of the science. You arrogantly rant without real knowledge that the scientific disciplines contradict each other. Physics-no proof, Chemistry-no proof, Astronomy-no proof, Biology-no proof but a lot of beliefs, Paleontology-no accurate dating by a beer drinkers that dig holes.
Pointing people to some website is a cop out!

It only sounds like you trying to be intellectual. If science proved it already then show the proof.

Idb83 I believe in the one form of evolution that teaches species maintain there fitness through natural selection and genetic variation and drift. The theories that elude to origins based on anti supernatural presuppositions should stay in the category of theory.

Pointing to a website isn't a cop-out. If a website has all the information you need on it, then it's easier to direct someone to read it. It's obvious from what you said that you know very little of science, so why not find out by reading websites or books?

Oh yes, and why would physics or astronomy have any proof of evolution? It's a biological theory.

Ask me a specific question about evolution and I will give you a very thorough answer. What is it you would like to know?

And then I will ask you to give me equally indisputable evidence that supports your belief.

First you yourself must understand the idea of scientific theory. A thing is a theory because there is evidence that supports it. An idea is a hypothesis because there is not yet any evidence for it to become a theory. A theory remains a theory because it is yet to be disputed, an/or it can not be observed or reproduced in a lab.

Evolution is an undisputed theory and our best model. There are facts to support it. Barnes and Nobles or your local library are good places to start. They have several books explaining the theory.

Other undisputed theories include the theory of gravity and the theory of relativity. Evolution is equally indisputable as these two theories are.

Hope I've helped. Now feel free to ask a specific question. What would you like to know?

What kind of proof do want? There is proof of astronomy. Have you read about the Hubble telescope and everything that we have learned from it? http://hubble.nasa.gov/index.php
How can you not believe in evolution? Look at Lucy. Her skeleton is proof of evolution. Plus there is proof all around you. Try reading about the Galapagos Islands. http://www.galapagos.org/ That is one of most species diverse places on earth. Plus the species living there show evolution as it happens. Two birds from the same family will live on two separate parts of the island and have distinctly different characteristics that have enabled them to adapt to their location.
There is proof of chemistry everyday. Look at the Hydrogen bomb! Would we have that without chemistry???? NO! They split the hydrogen atom to create it. Plus chemistry is a part of everything. This world was created by elements being forced together.
I could go on forever, but I think you have all ready made up your mind.

You're on an anonymous web forum. People share what they have learned without having to cite scientific data. If you want a scholarly response, go to a library database yourself.

I have taken honors collegiate courses in biological anthropology, psychology, biology, religion and many other areas of social science in particular. It took me 30 seconds to respond to this question. It would take me 45 minutes to dig up all the evidence in support of evolution.

If you have actually done enough academic research to assess whether or not evolution is the most scientifically probable course of life on this planet and you STILL don't believe it exists, no amount of my own research citations into the topic will convince you either.

If you're waiting around for random people on the internet to inform you on the topic, you're no better than the rest of us who are relying on our own academic experience.

And pointing people to a 2000 year-old book written by uneducated middle-eastern sheep herders and claiming it's fact despite there being ZERO evidence that it IS isn't a cop-out? The majority of people on Y/A are NOT claiming to be EXPERTS in biology, astronomy, geology, and anthropology, but we have a lot more evidence and information to back up OUR "beliefs" than the religious have to back up theirs.
It always astonishes me that people who believe in a magical, supernatural, invisible super-being living in the sky insinuate that hundreds of thousands of biologists, anthropologists, and geologists with doctorates in science are somehow ignorant. Yet these same people have no problem with scientists when it comes to medical treatments. (Or using your computers, IPods, flying on planes, driving cars, using plastics, etc.)
If you needed an organ transplant, I'd bet you wouldn't be so quick to criticize biologists then, would you? (Or would you prefer to just pray to "God" to craft one up out of the mud in your backyard for you?)

Christian asks, "What does evolution say about this?"

I resist the urge to say, "Nothing, scientists speak, theories don't." I decide this person deserves an answer.

The answer involves a LOT of information.

I don't know if the Christian really wants an answer or is setting up for a straw man argument. My efforts might be wasted on a ruse, and my avoidance may miss the chance to educate someone who genuinely wants an answer.

So I compromise -- I provide references to the information asked for. If the person is genuinely interested, I've given the required info. If the person is not genuinely interested, I've provided no fuel for their fire nor have I given them an inordinate amount of my valuable time to play their game.

I guess you should call the University of Colorado and have them revoke my Bachelors of Science degree. Also, call the prestigious National Academy of Sciences and ask them why, with the exception of one member (Dr. Philip Skell), every one of them accepts the theory of evolution.

Denial of the evolution is just like denial of the holocaust -- it's denial of fact to suit a dogma. A character flaw.

You cannot be a moral person and deny evolution.

Why would a guy with an obvious complete lack of understanding of anything that requires thinking feel qualified to comment on things that require thinking? You claim that evidence is worthless, so you prefer to believe in something that has no evidence at all. Get a life.

Because they are not 'evolutionists'. They are normal people who choose to believe the more sensible of all the theories out there. Also the one commonly taught in school and accepted by scholars to be the most accurate description we have so far.

I notice you neither present your belief, or any evidence, you just rant.
