Remember that there will be other people just like you, lacking confidence and hoping to find a friend. Look around until you spot one or two. Approach them and say something like. "Are you new here too? I am and it's awful not knowing anybody. Do you think we should look around together?"

Alternatively find someone who seems to be popular and say to them "I hope you don't mind me speaking to you, but I'm new around here and don't know anyone. You seem to have lots of friends. Could you introduce one or two to me?"

Or you could say "I'm new around here. Could you tell me the best places to hand out and which to avoid?"

Once you make one friend you'll soon have others through them. Be confident, friendly and just act normally. Don't try to impress falsely, you'll only be found out in the end. Good luck.

First, relax...moving to a new school makes for a lot of changes you have to get used to. You will soon make friends and acquaintances...especially if you are sociable and are interesting. I'm sure there is a bunch of people in each of your classes you could begin a casual conversation with. See where that goes. Just don't act desperate. (meaning forcing yourself on people). If you have no style, there is plenty of magazines that give clothing advice, and obviously you see what everyone else is wearing. Don't try to mimic though...that doesn't work. Be yourself and you'll find the friends you were meant to.

Everyone is a potential friend, but be choosy. Decide in advance what kinds of people you are willing to be associated with, and don't deviate. If you want kind, generous, gentle, intelligent, motivated friends, be that kind of person.

No style? I doubt that, but don't let it be your primary concern. Keep yourself well groomed and nicely dressed in clothes that make you feel good about yourself. Fashion trends come and go; find a style that works for you and stick to it.

Good luck in your new school!

Well what exactly are you looking for? The best way to make friends is to talk to people. Style tips are fine but only if you have a style in mind that suits you.

There has to be clubs you can join. No style here, then no style where you came from? Style doesn't matter as much as the label these days w/kids. Shop at Ambercrombie, Hollister or at the least American Eagle.

Oh and smile at people (especially guys). They'll remember when they see you at the clubs you're going to join.

Just start talking to other people in your classes, making small conversation. Eventually you'll find a group to hang out with. It just takes a bit of time. When I left for college I knew almost no one. But the random people in the cafeteria I started talking to are now my best friends. Just be friendly, and I'm sure you'll meet some new friends.

Don't freak out! Be yourself. Don't be shy and go up and make an effort to be their friend. Style... this one is pretty easy. All you have to do is be comfortable and cute. If you want something really cute wear some basic colors with like a cute pattern tee (polka dots, stripes, skulls n' crossbones). Layer them and wear them with jeans or a cute skirt or shorts. To add some decoration wear a funky belt, glasses, scarf, earrings, neckalce or (my fave) shoes. Be happy with who you are and try your best! Good Luck! ~

Be yourself and get invovled in extracurricular activities that interest you. Don't be afraid to try something new (i.e. try out for a sport you've always been interested in but never played in school). Be confident and honest and the right kind of friends will eventually come your way.
