As for today, invite the family over and have a dinner and talk about the old times. When my aunt died last January, we all gathered at her house and just sat around at first. Then we brought out photo albums and everyone started remembering the good times and it made us feel so much better. The funeral was nothing special, but at a friend of mines funeral, her daughters made a collage of pictures of her growing up, getting married, etc until just before she dies. It was beautiful to see how she had changed through the years,

I am SO sorry you have lost your mom.
Perhaps you could put some photos of your mom on display at the funeral - from as many different phases of her life as possible, e.g. as a child, teenager, new bride, new mom, etc. Maybe even a bad pic of your mom with her hair in curlers, etc.
You could also put a photo as a background and put her favourite poem about life as the foreground and frame that. Or put them side by side.
Have someone sing/play her fave song, even though it might be from the 70s.
Light a candle in her memory. Ring a bell in her honor.
Just a few thoughts.

So your Mother passed away today, may she Rest In Peace, though I am surprised you took time out to go online.
Try and think of all the good times you had together and if you believe in God then you can believe she has moved on to her reward and an eternal life in a better place.

have several male strippers show up at the wake and do there thing.... Tell everyone its what mom wanted.
