I was bored checking out the hilarious banana "atheists worst nightmare video"

and was wondering why do evangelicals need to outright lie in order to get followers? Shouldn't the power of god be enough to get followers?

Makes you wonder why they misrepresent evolution and natural selection all the time too.

"My mamma wasn't no monkey!"

"I didn't come from goo! Did you?"

Nope!

They could form a new country with all these straw people they create.

They need to lie because the faith to which they profess is absurd. People today realize that people do not walk on water, the sun does not and can not stand still on a person's word, a man could not survive in the belly of a whale, the dead do not come back to life. These things are taught by this repackaged pagan cult and you either have to be mostly brain dead or a complete idoit to believe in any of the magical grabage they force feed to you.
As a side note. The christians had their chance it was called the dark ages. And we all know how the f*&ked that up so since they have proven themselves to be ineffective at anything is it not now time for them to just fade away quietly.

It is obvious that you didn't believe in god just by reading your response to the question "How can I control my temper". Kobe, the asker, did not even mention his race, but YOU felt you needed to point out that black people "play the race card". I do not play the race card because then everyone would complain that I'm playing the race card. I don't know why you seem to have so much hatred in your heart towards people you don't know- both Christian and black. You need serious help.

Lie about what?
There are people who lie about everything, and there are people who try to tell the Truth .
People who believe everything they are told make a great mistake, and what`s more open themselves to being mislead by Power-thirsty Frauds, of which there are in all religions!
I think the true Christian and the Buddhist ideal is a magnificent one, and helps us to be good, just and loving, and forgiving, provided we follow it`s pure and simple concept and listen to our own " interior " through Meditation.

Dear wv,

Again, I ask the question, "How do you know they were true christians?" No person can see into the soul of another person. Do you recall the "so-called pilots" of 9-11? All of them had the uniform and credentials of an airline pilot but were they concerned about the well-being and safety of their passengers?

Look what Jesus says in Matthew 7:21-23, "Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven.
Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works?
And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity."

Only God know s the heart.

True "Christians" don't need to lie or mislead people in order to get "followers". Unfortunately there are people out there who claim to be "Christians" but obviously are not. Sorry if you've been burnt by people who claim to be Christians. They make it very hard for people to believe in GOD. I personally believe in GOD, but I don't lie or mislead others so that they will believe. I try to be true and I don't push others to believe; If someone doesn't, that's their chose and I respect that.

I don't think that they were lying about the banana thing. I think that they are seriously that stupid. Cameron seems like a moron, and I have no reason to doubt him, based on the idiotic story of theirs about bananas.

im a christian pentecostal and we dont lie to people about anything, why do you say "evangelicals lie" who lied to you? did someone lie to you and tha's why you hold a grudge against "evangelicals, yeah the power of god is enough to get "followers" but if you know anything about god then you 'd know that it is the followers job to speak the word of god to get more followers, thats all god is asking of you to preach his word... if someone lied to you dont think we're all like that..open your mind to new things.. and thank god you're alive and thank him for everything you have because if it wasnt for him you wouldnt have any of the things you have now.. GOD BLESS you and forgive you for speaking of his chilfren like that...

I agree with you. I actually heard one guy, a missionary, claimed a dog brought a bible to a witchdoctor and she was saved. I cannot believe the load of crap some people tell. It does seem to me that they are feeding this kind of cr*p to people to get thier money or support. It's stupid. People need to think for themselves, not listen to these crazed idiots who want your money. It seems people lose all ability to detect liars when they get overinvolved with thier church or whatnot. Wake up people!

We must be on the same wave length because I just asked a similar question. Why does a religion that supposedly values truth so much spread so much disinformation? My guess is misery loves company and pastor needs a new Benz.
