Sure... I was living in south america when I meet this guy from USA. We were "dating" over the phone and visiting each other for a year and a half. We have been married for 8 years and have a 5 years old boy.
Just remember that is really easy to idealize someone that you only see or hear a couple of times, and is always in a good mood.

I don't think it's possible, I KNOW it's possible. My sweetie and I have been in a long distance relationship for a while (we had to begin one after 5 months of being together because we were starting jobs in different places). So far, so good, but you have to know HOW to be in a relationship like this. It's based on trust and communication for the most part because you can't physically be with the other person. We talk everyday, we send care packages to one another, we IM, we send notes, anything that helps us to feel closer and "in touch". We even share the most trivial parts of our day (i.e. I went to the store to buy milk, I took the dog for a walk, etc.) because it helps our bond stay strong. However, for a long distance relationship to really work, both people have to be fully devoted to one another and have their hearts in the relationship 100%. If this doesn't happen, then things will not work out. It definitly takes two! Also, it's important to always mark the calendar with the date when you will see each other again. If it is unclear if and/or when you will see each other again (and if you will be able to have a future together), this can put a real strain on the relationship. It makes both people wonder "is this relationship really worth my time or should I find someone who is closer to me?" Just remember communication is key as well as trust, love, and respect. You if you have all these things in place, then things will more than likely work out.

The people that answered this before me are correct, long distance relationships don't work for everyone. You must have trust, honesty, and maturity in the relationship in order for it to work. If one of those things is not right, than the relationship will not last.

Only if your good at lying....Honestly, depends on where you are living i guess. I am absolutly in love with my girlfriend and I would never thing of cheating on her, but If I were to go away to college or have her go away to college, (we are both living in the same town college) I would not expect our relationship to be healthy/faithful. But if you are simply just working away from eachother for a few months or something yeah then its possible without having to deceive one another.

and by college, I am refering to a big state school

Yes it is possible, but it hurts too much when you're feelings get stronger and having to deal with the ugly fact that your love is so far away can drive you nuts.

I advise you to really think abou it.
