THC is stored in fat cells in the body, and can remain in your system for 30 days, depending on several things (water intake, exercise, etc), and can be detected by a blood or urine test. The urine test is the most inexpensive, and easily administered. As for the blood test, the test has to be specifically looking for drugs/chemicals in your system. A "simple" blood test is generally for checking blood count (for anemia) or indicators of disease (cancer, etc)---and not for picking up drugs. That being said, if this program (AISH)--which I'm unfamiliar with--requires that you be drug-free, then the doc may be using a test to check for drugs. If not, you're probably good. The best way to clean out your system--not just hide it---is a lot of exercise (mobilizing fat helps dump it into your system, then your body cleans it out--very simplistic answer) and water...you can take Golden Seal to help you pee more, but it really isn't all that effective if that's all you do. Sorry for the rambling answer--hope this helped.

OH yeah if you smoked within 30 days prior to the test. And yes, a positive drug test will result in losing everything, from food stamps to housing assistance to disability to just about anything provided by the government (state,, local and federal). If the patient is on prescribed meds for whatever ailment, the MD dispensing them (especially mental health meds) will have careful documentation of dosages, frequencies, and routine blood testing results taken to monitor levels of the drug he prescribed). Marijuana is not a drug prescribed. Your friend is at risk of losing any benefits he is recieving already as well as any he may be applying for. Tox screens now look for the various "remedies" taken to mask drug consumption in blood tests, so if hes thinking about taking something like Gold Seal, forget it. When they see that in the tox screen, they know youre trying to hide the drug use, and the specimen is flagged as positive. They are even taking hair specimens (can reveal drug use for years prior) and mouth swabs now too, so just dont do em!

Nobody would bother. A positive finding of THC in the urine (not blood) would show a fairly recent use of marijuana, and the exact timing of the use would be unimportant. The rest is a complicated issue. A lot of people self-medicate for mood disorders, usually to ill effect, and many cases of what are thought to be pure mood disorders may be drug-related problems instead, so misdiagnosis is a problem. Also, it's quite possible for people to be less sympathetic about your sore thumb if you refuse to stop hitting it with a hammer, if you get what I mean.

THC (tetrahydracannabinol... the active ingredient in marihuana) is stored in fat cells. They can test your urine for traces, but I'm not sure about your blood. Either way, if they're testing for something else, that's most likely All they'll check for, and not be looking for THC.
