We do that to prevent getting hatemail and viruses.

Maybe some people don't want to be contacted by some of the sickos on yahoo, and yes, there are quite a few, in case you haven't noticed. Furthermore, why would anyone want to debate beyond this? We answer questions, ask a few and it's over. it's all for fun. Now that you've given out your info, come back in a week and let us know if you're happy that you did.

I suspect it's a combination of factors. First, control. Nobody really wants to have spam from a site they voluntarily visit maybe a little bit every day. Second, I suspect most people don't understand that all e-mail through the registered address is brokered by Yahoo. If you e-mail me, you never actually see my address (so you couldn't sign me up for that viagra mailing list, e.g). I've had my addr up there a couple of weeks and I've gotten some weird e-mail - and fortunately (because of item 2) I can totally ignore it if it's not welcome.

1) I don't give my e-mail address out of respect for my husband. I don't know any of the people on here personally and it wouldn't be appropriate to receive e-mails from men I don't know. I sure wouldn't be very happy if his in-box were full of e-mails from women we don't know.
2) Insulting people - well, there's another good reason to not list my e-mail. Life is too short to deal with people who are just looking for somebody to argue with. I'm not into that.
3) I don't think I post hate-filled or judgmental statements, and you can always add somebody as a contact - then yahoo will let them know and THEY can decide whether or not to add you as well.

I don't display my email on here because I don't want to get bombarded with a bunch of hate email because of my beliefs. There are so many people that post on here that are just out to argue and ridicule - they are not here to actually post and answer serious questions.

I put it up until I get nasty responses. Then take it down.I wait a week or two and put it back up.I do want to be available to help out people seeking the truth. As you know, this place is littered with blasphemers.I have better things to do with my time than to argue in a vain manner.

You see it`s easier and to come on here and give out all manner of hate filled statements under the cloak of virtual anonymity, and it shows the nature of cowardice when you cannot show your full colors by keeping your email open.
It is the nature of hatred to wound and hide.

Not everyone who comes to share a view is interested in "new Rolex watches now!!!" or "Try vicodin FREE!!" And that's just one reason.
People have many reasons for wishing to preserve their identity from spammers, hackers, trolls, and social misfits. You don't have to look very hard to find victims of fraud, identity theft, mail bombing, and harassment.

I don't want the hassle of deleting the ugly or long winded emails. I know I am hated by unbelievers. God promised me that I would be.

No, I just don't want to be spammed by 1000 proselytysers.
Nor am I so brainless as to put my email address up where scraper bots can get it so easily. How many thousands of spam emails do you get per day?

Some would rather not be bombarded with stupid nonsense just because they have a different viewpoint than another person.
I however do not really care, thus my email is visible
