You should try something easy,direct and with some information about you.Not you whole life or personal secrets,something interested.So the other person might have something about you.I think this is best way in build-up something.

Some profiles are not active. So you should confirm that the user is still there. Maybe a quick hello or I'm interested in you, can we exchange some photos will work. Of course, you can also say something related to her profile and some other interesting things.
