9. How did the fish survive? A global flood would cause all the freshwater and salwater on earth to mix together, making the freshwater too salty and the saltwater too fresh (killing all the fish). If your answer to any or all these questions is "God did it", than my final question is: Why would god half *** a miracle? If god is going to need to intervene for any reason at all why doesnt he just do it all himself? Why didnt god just snap his fingers and recreate everything like he did in the beginning?

Ok i can tell you have a lot of questions so i will help you
1. What did the carnivores eat on the boat? Any animals they ate would have gone extinct ultimately defeating the purpose.

When God told Noah to bring two of every animal he said (from Genesis 6)Bring in a pair of each kind of bird and animal and reptile. Store away in the boat all the food that they and you will need. And Noah did everything as God commanded him.

2.It is widely accepted by christians that the dinosaurs were killed in the flood. If this is true, why were they ignored by god and why did he save the alligators?

I think that dinasours were killed by a meteor shower. And he saved the alligators becuse they were reptiles too.

3.Even if noah did manage to fit the animals onto the boat, they wouldnt have had enough space to move around. Wouldnt a lot of animals die from blood clots, atrophy or disease?

They had plenty of space. And here is why they didn't get sick.( Genesis 6) As God observed how bad it was,and saw that all mankind was vicious and depraved,he said to Noah,"I have decided to destroy all mankind: for the earth is filled with crime because of man. Yes,I will destroy mankind from the earth. Make a boat from the resinous wood, sealing it with tar:and construct decks and stalls throughout the ship. Make it 450 feet long,75 feet wide, and 45 feet high. Construct a skylight all the way around the ship, eighteen inches below the roof; and make three decks inside the boat- a bottom, middle, and upper deck-and put a door in the side. Look! I am going to cover the earth with a flood and destroy every living being- everything in which there is the breath of life. All will die.But I promise to keep you safe in the ship, with your wife and your sons and their wives. Bring a pair of every animal- a male and a female- into the boat with you, to keep them alive throughout the flood. Bring in a pair of each kind of bird and animal and reptile. Store away in the boat al the food that they and you will need. And Noah did everything as God commanded him.

4. Where were the termites stored? Ants? Bees?

They were stored in the boat. Becuse when God told Noah to build such a big boat he said that so there would be plenty of space for his family and the animals that were on teh baot.

6.Not all animals reproduce in pairs, how were they braught to the ark and why doesnt the bible outline this?

They were not really carried into the boat here is what it says in the bible.( Genesis 8) So Noah did everything the Lord commanded him. He was 600 years old when the flood came. He boarded the boat with his wife and sons and their wives, to escape the flood. With him were all the various kinds of animals- those for eating and sacrifise and those that were not,and the birds and reptiles. They came into the boat in pairs, male and femal, just as God commanded Noah.

7. ( 6 answers that as well)

8. After the flood, what did all the herbivores eat? All plant life would have been killed so the herbivores would have starved to death. *Not before being eatin by the carnivores!* ;)

After the flood was over Noah didn't go out for a while. He kept sending a dove to see if there was dry land. The first time he sent out the dove she returned because the water was too high. Seven days later he relased the dove again and towards evening, she returned to him with an olive leaf in her beak. So Noah knew that the water was almost gone. A week later he relased the dove again, and this time she didn't come back.Eight more weeks went by. Then at last the earth was dry. Then God told Noah," You may all go out. Release all the animals, birds, andreptiles,so they will breed abundantly and reproduce in great numbers. And to answer your other question when the animals were on the boat they eat what Noah had put there for them to eat.

9. How did the fish survive? A global flood would cause all the freshwater and salwater on earth to mix together, making the freshwater too salty and the saltwater too fresh (killing all the fish). Even if you want to say that there wasnt enough freshwater to delute the saltwater, how does that account for freshwater fish?
God made it possible somehow. I am sorry you may want o look it up in the bible.

10.Why do we have SO many different geographical races? Even if everyone on the boat who survived the flood were a different race, it still wouldnt explain how we have so many different races.
It's called adadpation. When a species of an animal adapts to fit in with it's enviroment.

11. Where did noah store the food? Enough food to last ALL those animals that amount of time would have required an entire separate ark of its own.
That is probably why God told Noah to build such a big boat.

I hope that helped you :)

ok this is what i know i have read that people speculate that there were 3 tiers of the boat. the bottom tier was for storing animal waste the 2nd was for the animals and the top was for noah his family and the food.

If God were to flood the earth which is what we christians believe then i would have to assume that God would make it muche asier concidering the circumstances. I think it would be ignorant to say that God one day said hey noah i'm gonna flood everything and then left him to his own devices without any help with the animals. it's a pretty far fetched story anyway if you are going to believe it you believe it all or none so i would believe that God intervened in the way the animals behaved.
1st off i have read that being on such a massive ship with dim lights and the soft rocking of the waves would have had a soothing effect on the animals possibly putting them into hybernation, causing them toeat less poop less need less exercise....they would have eaten hay barley what ever. also there wasn't just 2 kinds of animal on the boat it was 1 pair unclean 7 pair clean (animals that had split hoof and chewed cud look it up in genesis it was outlined how they got there....) so there was meat for eating on board. it also says in the bible that the animals came to the ark so i would have to assum again that it was totally in God's hands and he knew what he was doing bee's wasp' s other bugs don't take up much space so they were probably werever and it would have been difficult for termites to damage the boat concidering it's constructing of gopher wood.
i don't believe that the dinosars were killed during the flood so i don't know about that.
btw there is also much speculation that there were much fewer species than there is now alot of people believe in adaptation like that those animals were the beginning species.. lk 1 kind of sparrow now there's who know's how many.
there was supposedly a walkway that went around the middle so they would have walked the animals that didn't hybernate to stretch their legs
and the reason they were on the boat for so long and of course you probably know the significance of the dove and the olive branch he waited until there was plant material on the ground to go out and release the animals
also its been thought that there was no ocean to begin with it was pangea and it says in the bible that water burst forth from the ground and that's why i believe there is trenches in the ocean and there was plant material found on antartica that's why i bet that salt water fish didn't die in the first place they were a product of fresh water adaptation. the land before the flood is a land we can't even begin to imagine it would have been wonderful.

frankly here's the point no one was there to say otherwise so if you believe in God you have to trust that he worked everything out and didn't leave it all up to noah. it would be pretty pointless to wrship a God we didn't believe could preform miracles right?

Sorry, A wooden boat with these dimentions... "Using a "conservative estimate" for the length of a cubit, this would make the ark approximately 438 feet by 73 feet wide by 44 feet tall." Would break like a twig! Even empty it wouldn't float upon a raging ocean much less filled with millions of animals that the small group of humans, who couldn't possibly have taken care of that many for that long, would sink just by the shear tonnage. For those who believe it is an exaggeration. That would mean it is a LIE and that certainly smacks in the face of the commandments.

The whole point of the story is that god has a very short temper and will 'venge his mighty wrath with much smiting' whenever he feels like it. If this happens to kill most of the local population, well... tough! They were probably sinners who didn't eat fish on Friday or coverted their neighbor's lawnmower, or something wicked.
The part about animals two-by-two was made up on the spot by a quick thinking storyteller when some smart kid started asking awkward questions, in all innocence, about cats and dogs!

Keep asking questions, my friend...

These are all great questions! I would like to know the answers as well. I hate to be the bearer of bad news but I don't think anyone on here was alive at the time of Noah's Ark. But if you accept Christ as your Saviour you will get the chance to ask Noah yourself!

WOW that's a lot of questions. Let me grab my coffee and I'll start on them... hang on...
1. They ate dried/smoked/salted meat and/or fish.

2. I think that the infant dinosaurs that Noah kept on the ark were unsuited to the different climate that the post-flood world presented. It could have been that, or maybe Noah's sons were sick of constantly defending their families from the nastier ones, and just killed them before they bred too much!

3. The ark was about 450 feet long, 75 feet wide, and 45 feet high. The total available floor space on the ark would have been over 100,000 square feet, which would be more floor space than in 20 standard-sized basketball courts. The total cubic volume would have been 1,518,000 cubic feet (equal to the capacity of 569 modern railroad stock cars). "The Genesis Flood" by Drs. Morris and Whitcomb states that no more than 35,000 individual animals needed to go on the ark. But we need to add on a reasonable number to include extinct animals. Let's assume 50,000 animals, far more animals than required, were on board the ark, and these need not have been the largest or even adult specimens. Assuming the average animal to be about the size of a sheep and using a railroad car for comparison, we note that the average double-deck stock car can accommodate 240 sheep. Thus, three trains hauling 69 cars each would have ample space to carry the 50,000 animals, filling only 37% of the ark. This would leave an additional 361 cars or enough to make 5 trains of 72 cars each to carry all of the food and baggage plus Noah's family of eight people. The Ark had plenty of space.

4. Termites were probably stored in a clay or metal container filled with wood. Ants and bees were probably stored in a clay pot (Noah could have taken an entire hive).

5. Moths and insects with short lifespans probably reproduced on board.

6. The animals that reproduce asexually didn't obviously need a partner, but perhaps for genetic diversity, God wanted Noah to bring a couple anyway.

7. Earth's continents pre-flood was in Pangea, and post-flood slowly drifted apart. The animals that ended up where they ended up were stuck there when the continental divide grew too great. Let's hypothesize and say there could have been parrots in what is now Alaska, but since we see no parrots in Alaska now, they must not have been able to adapt to the cold weather. If kangaroos had gone say, west, instead of east, perhaps we'd have kangaroos in Central America instead of Australia.

8. Noah packed a lot of food on the ark. There was enough left over when the waters receded to sustain them until the plant matter grew again.

9. We do not know how salty the sea was before the flood. The flood was initiated by the breaking up of the "fountains of the great deep" (Genesis 7:11). Whatever the "fountains of the great deep" were, the flood must have been associated with massive earth movements, because of the weight of the water alone, which would have resulted in great volcanic activity. Volcanoes emit huge amounts of steam, and underwater lava creates hot water/steam, which dissolves minerals, adding salt to the water. Furthermore, erosion accompanying the movement of water off the continents after the flood would have added salt to the oceans. In other words, we would expect the pre-flood ocean waters to be less salty than they were after the flood.
The problem for fish coping with saltiness is this: fish in fresh water tend to absorb water, because the saltiness of their body fluids draws in water (by osmosis). Fish in saltwater tend to lose water from their bodies because the surrounding water is saltier than their body fluids.
This answer is super-long. You may wish to read a WHOLE bunch more here:

10. After the people built the Tower of Babel, God confused their language, causing a break-up of the population into smaller groups which scattered over the earth. Modern genetics show how, following such a break-up of a population, variations in skin color, for example, can develop in only a few generations.
We all have the same coloring pigment in our skin—melanin. If we had none (as do people called albinos, who inherit a mutation-caused defect, and cannot produce melanin), then we would have a very white or pink skin coloring. If we produced a little melanin, we would be European white. If our skin produced a great deal of melanin, we would be a very dark black. And in between, of course, are all shades of brown. Generally, whatever feature we may look at, no people group has anything that is essentially different from that possessed by any other. For example, the Asian, or almond, eye differs from a typical Caucasian eye in having more fat around them. Both Asian and Caucasian eyes have fat—the latter simply have less.
To answer your question: Noah's sons and daughters all had a great diversity hidden in their DNA. Differences came out when a darker person married another dark person, and a short person married another short person (and so on).

Even as a child in church I always wondered if everyone in the world were products of incest since Noah's family were the only surviving humans. Then I grew up and realized it was just a story and nothing more.

AKA I can't answer your questions. Stop asking them.

It is not a very omnipotent God that can not just poof the sinners out of existence. Not a very omnicognicent god that does not know which people to zap. Why did all the plants and animals have to bite it too?

i didnt read all your questions. but there is nothing impossible for God. all the animals followed wut God said to them. and the ark was probably big enough to fit the food. and dinos didnt die in the flood. noah had EVERY animal that means he had dinosaurs to... baby ones of course. after the flood there was a change in the atmosphere which made them die off. people already have proof that the ark exists . they have proof of where it is rite now :)
