are there any provisions for legal immigrants who have been here for a long time but their status are in limbo to be able to at least work in this country according to the new immigration bill if passed?

Thanks for your answers

Ok, I belong to one of those super rare cases. We immigrate in the US through an international organization. I came here when I was 16 and its been 8 years now.

The law(in my case) states that I can only work here until I turn 25 after that theres no way to work, unless i have been here for 7 years between ages of 5 - 21 years. Anyway i didnt qualify for that.

I have an employer who is willing to petition me but because of the current green backlog, it takes at least 4-5yrs just to get a working permit! I dont have an BS degree yet just an AS so i didnt qualify for H1-visa.

So i just want to know if anyone can help me with this. I just want to work because i have bills

4-5 years to get a work permit??????????? C'mon. Friends got work permits and green cards withing 6 months. My wife got a work permit, green card, and citizenship in just over 3 years. If you're not one of those sho wants everything handed to you, start now.

Most of the problems our legal immigrants face are the direct result of illegal immigrants. That is inexcusable. The people who are trying to become permanent residents or American Citizens legally, are being inconvenienced far too much while illegal aliens go about their merry way.

This new and very stupid bill will make things worse for those legal immigrants still waiting. It will allow the illegals to jump ahead of you. You should complain loud and hard to the president and congress.

I am with you on this.

Legal immigrants can almost always work.

Maybe you could say which country you're talking about.
