Birds do it, reptiles do it, amphibians do it, fishes do it, and now sharks are known to do it," said Bob Hueter, director of the Center for Shark Research at the Mote Marine Laboratory in Sarasota, Fla., who was not involved in the project.

Or a particularly pious writer retconned a virgin birth origin story a generation after Jesus died. It's the same process by which Kim Jong Il's birthplace was moved from the Soviet Union to the top of Mt. Paektu.

This is a silly question, but for the sake of argument... lets see.

Well, if you are going to fertilize your own eggs...

Would that not, by nature make all your offspring identical to yourself?

So your answer would be no, as Jesus was not a girl.

No. Parthenogenesis always results in a genetic female.

unless... Jesus was intersexed. That'd do the trick.

It's possible.

Though not probable.

'Occams Razor' applies here. She claimed to be a virgin, yet gave birth.

Which is more likely - God made her pregnant? Or she wasn't really a virgin?

The main problem is that people accept it - because the bible says so. They are scared of doubting what is in the bible.

They allow their fear to control them.
