hug to you.

I guess this is the first part of my Memorial day-I have gone to the VA to hear the speaches on the special Memorial day services and especially I love to hear them play "Amazing grace" on the bag pipes they play also - God bless America.

and pray for the president-that he wont yield to Muslim terrorism and let them take over Iraq to come back more to destroy England and the USA-Instead of fighting them over there so they cant take over the country and get its oil money to sponsor their war against believers in Jesus and or the Jewish people who have the Scriptures that predict Him.

I may go swimming too, but one year I cried cause my second best friend got killed in the military-Tommy Holloway, and as I serve Jesus I remember him-he inspired my life.

with thanks and respect I have to celebrate-even to see your Dad one day-as the bible says-those that go before us stand on the banners of heaven and cheer for us. Hebrews 12

this is how I came to know Jesus and his message of true love and hope

=I am a Jew that was taught to reject the Messiah Jesus as a liar and deciever and the New testament too-as I examined the bible I prayed and let Jesus into my heart to forgive my sins and become my friend. now life is very wonderful.

believe the bible that Christ, who is God Incarnate as predicted
Isaiah 9:6 "Unto us is born a child, a Son is given, and he will be almighty God, and the prince of peace."

perfectly predicted aprox 700bc -and the fact its still in the bible is proof that the bible is inspired and kept by true-if any scripture would be removed by the Jewish people that reject Jesus it would have been this verse.
Jesus, died on the Cross for our salvation and that He rose from the dead. We also believe that we too will rise from the dead on the Last Day when Jesus returns so the cross is symbol of victory over sin and death and has offered you salvation too.
be saved from sin, so that they can go to heaven.

I prayed as he asks us to do saying "I love you and ask you to repent of sin quickly-(even one lie) and Behold I knock at your heart door to come in, and be your friend and you mine." Revelation 3:19&20

this is my prayer "Jesus come into my heart, I am sorry for my sins, thanks for dying innocent to forgive me and help me, be my friend, amen."

it truely helped me and Jesus comforts me too as my best friend and savior.

be with your loved ones when you pass on to heaven instead of in hell weeping forever as Jesus says in Revelation 19-22nd chapters for rejecting his salvation.

praying for you friend, David.

Rain or shine, Saturday, I will complete the engine change in my VW, which will put me a the back of the field (driveway), but still get to make the show (work) as an owner/driver. LOL When the kid gets home from work, I will take her to Wallyworld for a four tire stop (she cut a tire down yesterday and is now on a donut & the fronts are starting to separate). ROFLMAO Sunday is race day, what do you think I'll be doing? Cooking and watching the race. Country style pork ribs, country style home fries, green bean cassarole, with blueberry shortcakes for dessert. Of course it all has to be done before the green drops, so I don't miss a second of quality racing at the biggest short track on the circuit. Oh, and let's not forget to have a few "adult" beverages before, during and after the cooking and racing.

Barbeque. An atheist groups I'm a part of is having a barbeque on Sunday. He has a place over near the Iwo Jima Memorial. It should be fun.

God bless the military?! You do realize it was superstitious religious belief that got them sent over to harm's way, right? I think we need less prayer and more action. Religion continues to spur both sides of this war. It's about time we get out there and get people to realize the harm they are doing.

We will go to our city's Memorial Day observance at the Veterans' Memorial. They read the names of our town's vets who have passed away. Then there is a march to the cemetary to lay flowers on the graves of vets. It is a moving experience. It always brings me to tears.

Probably torch a flag or two in front of a bunch of veterans.

One of the local veterans groups does flag retirements on Memorial Day, and I have two that need to be properly retired because they're badly worn and faded from years of use.

Wow, it IS a nice question!
I like the way you celebrate- you're keeping to the true spirit of Memorial Day. As a U.S. Navy veteran, I applaud you for that.

I'll be doing something similar.. and then going fishing.

What I do every year: I put flowers on the soldiers graves that no one pays attention to. I think its sad, there's so many graves and no one even takes care of.
