I have an older computer that has win 98se on it I have put winows player and realplayer on it, it is not on line I am looking for a programe that will play AVI files or divx palyer that will work on this system can anyone out there knows of a player that can play AVI files on a win 98se or what do I have to do to play an AVI file?

You could try VLC, but I'm not sure its 100% compatible with Windows 98. Its worth a shot, VLC plays just about anything you can throw at it.

As salam o alaikum
Real Media Player is best for playing AVI Format, but i think you have installed the old version of Real Media Player.
First try to upgrade your both players
Windows Media Player and Real Media Player
Atfer upgrading if problem remains same then try to find codecs for Windows Media Player
I think codecs will be available on Windows Media Player's Website
Download codecs from website in your pc and then install them.
