if something is a comfort to you , why would you not want to keep it??

Just listen to the words of hate in the answers here. It's amazing to me that one minute people hate so much and the next (like after 9/11) people are praying off the charts. Prophecy tells us that Christians will be hated and tortured and abused in the last days...that we must be willing to take a mark and denounce Christ or die. We see it happening more and more. Just remember, watch the signs. He who has ears, let them hear. Psalms 100:5 You will see the truth and still many will deny it because they have closed their minds and hearts. There is nothing they can do to separate His chosen ones from God. As for comfort? I am comforted that whether I die from an earthquake, flood, murder, rape or old age, that I will be made whole again someday along with the rest of my family. There is fear, sure, but only for my earthly body.

Yes we should keep it. It was designed as a guide for all Christians. If you have read the Bible and are a Christian then you know what a comfort the Bible and religion are in times of death. What you need to know is....not all religions have the same view of death and what happens to us after we die.

If religion is a comfort to someone then that is good and why should they not be comforted by it? The problems arise when religious enthusiasts try to give the religious comfort blanket to people who don't want it.

no religion is for people who do not want to live in the real world why tell lies to people why not the truth that the is no afterlife thay only keep the lie gowing because thay want the money

Well if it wasent religon that comforted us then it would just be somthing else to take its place. We need comfort some how. Basiclly any thing that works I say Do It.

That is the only sound reason for religion- if it's based on sentiment and experience and alleviating suffering it's useful- anything else such as dogma etc. is just meaningless crap.

Even if we decided not to keep it, some people would still believe in it.
I don't know what happens after we die, but I'm sure that noone else does either.

I am a Christian and it is Jesus Christ himself who comforts people who ask and who reach out to him not the religion itself. Christianity is all about a person - Jesus Christ and what he has done for us all.
