My father needs a copy of my birth certificate for his own personal immigration services reasons. The original is currently being processed with my passport and wont arrive back till june 16th and my father needs it by june 1st.

Therefore we need a copy birth certificate of mine within that time. We live in southern california, in los angeles, where i was born.

how can i go about obtaining one asap? if it makes a difference, I, the son am now 19 so would i have to get it instead of him?

You or your father can apply in person at one of several locations in LA County and have the birth certificate right then. Otherwise, you can mail a form which would need to be notarized or order online and fax a notarized form of identity. If you order in person, you or your father needs to present a legal, government-issued ID.

The LA County registrar. Btw, why didn't you take a copy before sending the original off? FYI NEVER send any documents to a government agency without taking a copy and send them certified mail.

Call your county court, and ask. Here in Wa. you can walk into health dept in county where you were born and get a copy for 18$ and walk out same day.

Have him call the county clerk's office (birth records division) to see if he can pick one up, but I doubt it. Usually they mail them out and if so, he will never have it by June 1. Good luck.

Eh, no it sounds a bit suspicious? "he needs it as soon as possible so that he can get something modified in NY." what's that supposed to mean? you should've said something not just say "yes I'll email it to you." Besides didn't he cheated on you several times? I'd say no b/c we are talking about a man who has lied and cheated and who didn't even gave a crap about his son. and I say there's something fishy about this....or maybe it's my imagination running wild again.
