It will kill you. A snub .38spl using standard velocity 150gr. slugs has a muzzle velocity of @ 650fps (for comaprison, a 4" model has the same slug going @850fps).

The speed is only part of the equation. The mass of the object traveling that speed is the other half. I have some downloaded ammunition for my nagant revolver that does about 900 fps, and I would think using a 110 grain (almost a quarter ounce) bullet that it could possibly cause a fatal injury.

If we are talking a BB gun, it would definitely break skin at the speed. Depending upon how deep the bb goes and where, it could also require a hospital visit which would ruin an otherwise good weekend.

You have only provided part of the question (equation). Think of this; a 45 ACP pistol shell, 230 FMJ bullet exits at 830 to 870 fps. You definitely don't want to be standing in it's way.

A bullet at 700 fps will kill you deader than virtue.

Several long popular pistol cartridges have stated velocities well under 700 fps.

700 fps is faster than some .38 Special bullets.

It will definately hurt. If it's the right projectile it will certainly be able to kill you.

YES. 350 hurts like a mofo at close range, 700 will lodge into the skin and will have to be dug out by a doctor.

my BB gun goes less than 700 fps and i use it to kill stuff. so it would hurt a lot, maybe cost you a trip to the hospital. yesterday i killed four birds with my BB gun. so dont shoot someone with that kind of gun, it would be very stupid of you.
