Try watching movies with subtitles, preferably the ones you already know the story. Watch first without them, second time with subtitles in English and,if needed ( sorry, I Know is boring but many times is necessary...) in the language you know. You get used, believe me... ( I not even liked movies very much...). Just to relax, you can also count with Cd's and musical dvs, they can help you a lot in getting vocabulary in a pleasure way, listening to songs that you like- translate music is a bit easier than poetry .(0f course it depends on the kind of music you like. By the way, forget RAP, black English is not the one you will need more. Is still considered substandard.)
Be courageous, and go ahead!!!
Talking with native speakers is perfect, when possible...If you can, do it...

Hmmmmm...something is not quite right here. I have seen many questions posted by persons claiming to have an excellent command of the English language and yet, every second word written was grammatically incorrect, misspelled, etc.
Now you, on the other hand, claim to have weak knowledge of English and poor vocabulary yet your sentences were rather well constructed, there were no spelling mistakes (just the word "fastly" isn't the best)...I'm quite impressed.
I suggest you read, read, read. Read as much as you possibly can. Your grammar and spelling and vocabulary and understanding of a language will improve greatly.
Good luck and keep up the good work.

Haha don't read dictionaries, those won't help you at all. Buy some sort of language CD or take a class...or hang around some English-speaking people. Also, most native English-speakers can't even understand poetry so don't worry about that =P. I can help you out if you'd like, I love meeting people from other places (omishrabbi@gmail.com). Your English sounds pretty good to me so far!

Try "graded readers". They're books in English, but changed to be easier to understand than the original version. Or email me, if you like, I'm the Goddess of Grammar you know.

Message boards are a bad place to learn English. Many people who post here cannot spell.
This may help:
