Christians, please tell me how you know if something is the voice of God or if it is the voice of the enemy. Honest discerning answers, please.

Well every one has a thought process, and sometimes it can be hard to discern if God is talking, if it's satan, or even yourself. First of all if it goes against the Word of God, you know it is the enemy, God will not tell you to do something that in His Word is wrong. If it's a selfish thought, something you want to do but know it's wrong, then it might be a little of the enemy and a little of your selfish actions. Somehow when God talks you know it's Him, because theres something about his voice in your head that you just know Him, it might take a while to realize that, it was hard for me to, but after a while of praying and reading the Bible and staying away from evil things you learn to recognize the voice of God. Prayer and fasting and reading the Word is a very good way to hear God. That's the key.

The voice of God will never contradict His word.
The voice of the enemy will contradict what God says. It encourages self-serving, sin, greed, lust, whatever vice it is encouraging you to do at the moment.
Satan began in the garden of Eden questioning the word of God (to Eve: "did God really say that?"). It was a successful ploy then, it is still now. The voice of Satan encourages a person to look for a "loophole" in the word of God, that we may not follow it, but do as we choose.

Check the message against his Holy Word, the King James Bible of 1611-if you're saved, according to John 3:3, and Romans 10, you may know the truth, and the truth will set you free.

The voice of God would never conflict with the word of God. That's why it is so important for us to study the Bible.

If the voice is talking in regards of self-glorification, it's not from god.
Enemy you called it, (okay) it wants you to feed your greed. It wants you to focus on your ego, it wants you to be loved by many people, it wants you to rule others.
You need wisdom to discrete the voice of enemy - but don't worry too much! God will give you all the wisdom you need..You just need to be honest with yourself 100%.

If it agrees with the Bible, it is from God, The Son and The Spirit will back it up as well.

If you believe you have received divine Christian counsel, I would say that such counsel would not run contrary to the Bible. So, there's a litmus test for you. Hope it was some help.

doesnt matter if they think its positive or negative. Auditory hallucinations are a bad sign either way. If you hear voices, see a psychiatrist and get on the right meds
