Because they are ignorant to Islam, it is freedom that give them that oppurtunity. It is CHristanity that blind because it teaches you never to question your faith or iman so they never look past the end of there nose so in that since they are blind. Not only that americans lead a pretty comfortable life so they never truely have to go beyond there means to find anything. When life is comfortable and full of bida(distractions) why should you care about faith, you have everything else under the sun. TY SALAM ALAKUM FROM SISTER CANDACE hey I started an online yahoo group for MUslims of AMerica you can join here http://groups.yahoo.com/group/werMuslimsofamerica/join

Frist, in response to many of the answers revolving 9/11: if we actually went against the country where most of the 9/11 terrorists came from, we would be going after Saudi Arabia, as 15 of the 19 highjackers were from Saudi Arabia. (Probably should have to.)
Second, while not all of the Arab world wants to kill everyone that they disagree with, the fundamentalists do: Arab, Jew, Christian, and all others that don't believe what they believe. Unfortunately, it's the fundamentalists who are standing out in the crowd and getting noticed.
So, what is the United States doing? Going after Fundamental Terrorists who want to destroy the world and rebuild it in their own way. Notice that although they are in the middle of a sentence, my third and fourth words started with capital letters.
The fundamentalist don't care who gets hurt. They don't care about their lives either. They're just looking to the afterlife. As a result, they are terrorizing the people in their own: lives, families, friends, neighborhoods, towns, cities, regions, countrys, world. The U.S. likes to help and protect people, so it's doing what it can to make the world a safer place. Too bad most of the world doesn't see it that way.

The Arab world is sitting on a shiit load of oil and the industrial world need it. Also as the middle moves back toward religious rule they are becoming more militants toward those that don't have the same views because as their precious Quran and thinks Allah want Muslims to be his hit man to extinguish people that don't believe as they do.
The middle east is using the technology of the forward thinking west to further their agenda of hate with even more deadly methods.
As an Atheist I can see how all religions are looking to expand to become the belief system of the world and so the competition is just getting more brutal from my perspective.

No Christians do no longer go away those who convert to different religions. it really is a properly popular shown reality that there are rules in assorted international places about leaving Islam, notwithstanding, and in some international places the punishment for doing so is demise. And it is also occurring that throughout the time of eu international places the position Muslims elect to leave Islam, there is intense backlash antagonistic to them.

The problem is that America has fallen into the grips of Satan. America is fueled by its passion and zest for extravagance, lust of power and money. We fund the very GOOD MUSLIMS(we try to call them terrorist even though they are just doing what their false prophet and false god tells them to do) that blow us up . Yes , that is right America, I am talking about you. And if you don't know this then you are ill informed . We spend millions of dollars daily, buying oil from the middle ease(i.e. Saudi Arabia) while they in turn buy weapons that they then use to kill us.
Also, however, America is one of the view countries that will automatically come to the aid of Isreal.
I am in no way condoning ISLAM because it is a false religion perpetrated by a false prophet who desired to fulfill his lust for sex, money , and power. However, America, the truth is the truth.

The United States has been drawn, inch by inch, into the middle east problems ever since the end of WWII.
The US is a peace keeping nation and an upholder of human rights. The middle east has, time and again, shown that it is not capable of either keeping it's own peace nor respecting the rights of individuals. Thus... we're there and we'll stay for as long as it takes.

Why can't muslim countries establish decent governments where the people are encouraged to think, rather than religious theocracies where mulsims are encouraged to be drones, and where they are encouraged to blame outsiders for all of their problems?

We have a religious whack job in office that thinks he is doing god's work. At least he is not as adept as Hitler. I'm very sorry and all I can say is that I did not vote for him.
IRAQ HAD NOTHING TO DO WITH 9/11!!
Please email me if anyone has proof that they did.
