The California State Senate passed legislation requiring students from kindergarten through twelfth grade to support instruction on homosexuality, bisexuality and transsexuality.
The bill, known as SB 777, requires textbooks and other instructional resources to cast a positive light on homosexual "marriages," cross-dressing, sex-change operations and every other facet of homosexual and bisexual lifestyles. ?
BTW: Christian Love does not mean that we are wishy washy and believe in Political Correctness, because I as many other Christians I know, do not.
Does being a decent good christian mean letting people walk all over you? Do you think Jesus is coming again like a beaten soldier of GOD ?
How much more mocking of GOD's commandments will he take? I think not much more, since our world is insulting and dis-obeying GOD with every chance they get..
Thoughts?

Did you actually read the bill? Or are you just going on what your 'friends' have told you?
Read the bill:
http://www.aroundthecapitol.com/billtrack/billview.html?bill=SB_777#tab1
There is nothing in there that says what you claim it says.
What it does say is:
This bill would revise the list of prohibited bases of discrimination and the kinds of prohibited instruction, activities, and instructional materials and instead, would refer to disability, gender, nationality, race or ethnicity, religion, sexual orientation, or any other characteristic contained in the definition of hate crimes that is contained in the Penal Code. The bill would define disability, gender, nationality, race or ethnicity, religion, and sexual orientation for this purpose.
So a teacher can not say that homosexuality is bad. That does not mean that they have to say it is good.
America is not a Christian country, it was not founded as one nor are its laws based on Christian lore.
The founding fathers deliberately set up the country and its laws to be secular. If you do not like that, tough.

My thoughts - I think I need to read the text of the bill before answering this. C'mon, it's POLITICS - you know how you can twist a bill to mean 50 million different things. I would like to read up on what exactly it requests before passing judgement on it.
EDIT - ahhhhh, I think I found the section you are talking about, Sections 29 & 30. What it is saying is that teacher cannot teach and books cannot contain material "that reflects or promotes a discriminatory bias against any person because of a characteristic listed in Section 220." (Section 220 is all the race, religion, gender, etc. etc. stuff.)
It doesn't say anything about having to ENDORSE anything. I don't see anything about not saying "mom" anymore. All I see is an attempt at not spreading discrimination. What's wrong with that?

I'm gay. I'm an atheist.
I think a law that requires or allows it presented in a positive light is just as unconstitutional as a law that requires or allows it to be presented in a negative light.
Education should be ethically neutral wherever possible.
Ethics are the responsibilities of the parents, *NOT* the government or the schools.

Christians are to be soldiers.
Soldiers aren't to run from the battle.
Pray,study word,etc.
Unfortunately christians many times go along with the PC non-sense instead of saying no.
Jesus (God) never "tolerated" ungodliness.
If all christians voted, avoided "joining in", prayed, etc. They would see a difference.

You forget to mention that it's also meant to protect students from harassment and discrimination. No matter how you feel about these issues, children should be protected - all of them.
If it dispels homophobia and keeps children safe, I'm ok with it.
Here's an article to start with:

Is this the same bill that would forbid any reference to a child having a "Mother and Father"? I think someone said they would have to be referred to as Parent - so no "Muffins for Mom" on Mothers Day because a child might have two "fathers" and feel left out.
I think this is the dumbest thing I have ever heard of. (Not because I am Christian - just because it is.)

A god who can't stand "mocking" is not a very powerful god. Do yourself favor and get another, stronger god. You'll sleep better.
