Walking 2 the edge of the cliff symbolises you confronting an uncomfortable or unfamiliar situation. the fact that someone pushes you could mean you feel like someone in your life is making it harder for you to cope, or being unsupportive (sending u over the edge?). You are jumping when you wake most likely as a reaction to the falling in the last seconds of your dream.

Well. To answer your question we must first find out what dreams ARE! When we sleep our brain does not fully stop working. Most parts of brain are in half sleep mood. If the brain stopped working we were dead in a second so it is still working but not in a normal behavior! At such times we may still realize things happening near us but the brain can not make a reasonable relationship between them. That's why we sometimes have dreams of searching for water when we are really thirsty.
There is also memories and things we have thought so much about. When we are asleep these thoughts will stay stil and the same thing would happen again.
There are also fears and interests. The might show up in dreams too.
Plenty more things may cause dreams. So you're dream shall be caused by one of these.
There shouldn't be a reason out of your brain.

To dream of being pushed means that you are feeling pressured to do something. It could be anything from your parents pushing you to behave or do better in school, to your friends pushing you to do something that you don't want to do, to lots of other things. It's important to know WHO is pushing you off the cliff - someone you know?
Alex, this is all probably very minor, but you shouldn't be feeling such stress. If necessary you should talk to whoever it is you think is pressuring you (even if it's YOU) and ask them to stop.
good luck

I agree...its about someone pushing you to do something you may not feel comfortable with, or that presents a challenge. Sometimes there are a series of these dreams as you come to terms with the obstacle in real life.

Freud believed that these types of dreams were derived from our early childhood experience of being thrown up in the air and being caught by an uncle or father. I had a dream like that repeatedly until I was in my mid teens. Freud believed that when we gave up our hold on childhood and started thinking of ourselves as an adult, that the dreams stopped.

It means you have reached a critical point in your life and may fear losing control.
You must realize that you and the person pushing you are the same person---You!

There is a decision that you are making, but you feel like it's not your decision - more like forced into it.
