No, you dont make an appointment. You have to go and apply, which takes a while, the line is long for marriage licenses, (and I was a Dec wedding, the line will be even longer in June, but its fun to see all the different people getting married and trying to figure out the love marriages and the greencard marriages) then you have to wait a minimum of 4 days, then you go back and get in line again. My husband just went to his coworkers in the begining of May, the wait was only a few minutes he said. Best advice is to go as early as possible, for each step, but be advised, its not something you can do on your lunch hour, it takes longer, so plan to have the morning or afternoon off to go do it, especially the marriage license application, that takes alot longer than the actual weddings do.

There are no waiting period in miami where i live but you should check out your local city hall and see if they require an appointment. But i really don't think you need one. congrats.
