i go to churches, and i want to go a mosque(i heard that women are not allowed, they are allowed to a certain worshipping place only...anyway i will make sure that i visit) THAT doesn't mean....i have no respect for my culture, religion, my "hindu" way of life. whatever happened in the past...if we cling to it...we turn ourselves like the thousand others who fight on the basis of a thing of the past....which doesn't "buy" peace.
as far as i know...many of my muslims and christian friends want to go to the temples....but are they allowed?...not in my part of the world.
Hinduism believes several rivers atlast join together to flow into a single sea....Who knows....the people who visit worshipping places of different cultures...want to get "closer" to that sea.
and about forming the majority of world's population and the declining percentage of hindu population in the future....i would like add one thing...."what exactly is the ultimate goal of our religion, our way of life?"
"if we are such feeble minds to get easily converted into a different culture without any reason or faith, we don't deserve to be hindus"
just because i visit other worshipping places...my belief in hinduism is stronger and "tougher". because whatever i read in my holy books...everything became true.
its sad...that to save our culture, religion, way of life...some of us think that we have to adopt "hatred" and the so called "self-respect".
i don't know about other hindus...i will visit...because that is my "way of life". that is what hinduism has taught me...respect other religions and respect yours too, even if it means that you don't get that in return.
but yes that doesn't mean...that we should only be tolerant...when there will be situation as like the "dharm yudh", we will fight.

Most of the Hindus are of open minded. I go to Gurudwara Churches and mosques. But still I am a staunch follower of Hinduism. Sikhism is a branch of Hinduism with some little adulteration from Islam.
Mostly Christians and Muslims never Visit Hindu Temples since they believe only in their Gods and More so in CONVERTING HINDUS into their fold. A Hindu never try to convert a person from other religion. Only these people give false promises and money and bring Hindus to their religion. In inter religion marriages they force the Hindu girls to convert to their religion. It is all because of their fanatism and narrow outlook.
If you start realizing the GOD is ONE and you anyone can worship under any faith then the problem will be solved. If this acceptance come through you will find all people going to temples, mosques, churches, gurudwaras, etc.etc. -

What is role of Kali devi in fighting against cruel mughals and against British. India is democratic by name only. If there is any law, how can they allow this. Because Sikhs do not have enough population in that area, it does not mean they are free to do any thing. Coward Hindu press is very eager to show minor things which happen to Sikhs abroad but here in India they try to hide things which are much bigger. Hindus can not build temple at a place which are occupied by dalits, muslims and where cows were slaughtered. Sikhs should send sirlath people to free Gurdwara from Kali worshiper(kali always demand blood, Kali is also the goddess of the thugs[they seek her blessing in india before commencing thuggee) illiterate people. Shame on such people. Yes God does punish those who committ atrocities on others. The time will soon come when these criminals will be washed away

When I travelled to India as a teenager, I did visit a Hindu temple. I also visited a Buddhist temple and Muslim mosque. For me, it was more of a cultural experience than a religious experience. However, I found the Hindu faith fascinating and enjoyed learning about some of the Gods from your religion, especially since they seem to show more human characteristics than the Gods of monotheistic religions. I think the world would be a lot better off if everyone around the world learned about and understood different cultures and religions.

This is a very difficult question. If we go by the definition of Hans Laxman we should not , as hindus have forgotten their glory and are like a meek coward trying to survive (and hans is speaking a bitter truth)
But if we go by the True definition of Santan Dharma, we have to respect all religions. While opposing the tyrants is a must in Hinduism, yet denying the Truth in any form is not the gist of our religion.
Guru gobind Singh, Shivaji etc fought with Moguls and killed the tyrannts, but they never hated their religion or rejected their faith.
The main cause of the problem is that Hindus themselves dont know about their philosophy well.... they are divided in sects and are busy in contradicting each other rather than coming on a common ground like christians and muslims do.
But perhaps this is what God wants...Kuchh Baat hai ki hasti mitati nahin humari

Satyam Shivam Sundaram....God is omnipresent...Hindus have understood this basic concept...so makes no difference as to where they go....God is in a gurudwara, as in a temple or a church....
As far as the other half of your question is concerned. A lot of Sikhs go to Hindu temples, so as do the Jains and the Buddhists.
A lot of Christians too frequent Hindu temples...in the south... Tirupathy is the best example.

"CHAMATKAR"
This is what Hindus mostly belive , they really dont know what hinduism is. So Throw 100 stones and atleast 1 stone will reach the spot, pray or go all the place atlest one god or priest or baba or any bullshit will listen.
Nothing much there is no real love towards the GOD.
Ask any 99.99% hindus.
Why they drop Lakhs and crores in Tirupati,
Why they do all the poojas
Why they even do the Karmakanda of their Elders
Most of them are materialistic.

Hindus R tolerant & secular by tradition, which has cost them dearly in the past. In stead of 100% or 95% their population in India is just 80%. As Hans Laxman has said , Jehadis may take over this holy land, unless Hindus wake to to the Green danger & combat it thoroughly & quickly.
Jai Shriram !

I AGREE WITH M.L.M AND ALSO HOPE 200%.MOST OFTEN I VISIT THE MANDIR. BUT I ALSO VISIT CHURCH, GURUDWARA, BUDDHIST MONAESTRIES,ARYA SAMAJI MANDIR OR ATLEAST BOW BEFORE THEM WHEN I PASS BY . AND I AM MOST WILLING TO ENTER ANY OTHER RELIGIOUS PLACE AND REMEMBER GOD THERE BECAUSE GOD IS ONE. FORTUNATELY, MANY HINDUS UNDERSTAND THAT AND THTS WHY HINDUS ARE MORE TOLERANT THAN PEOPLE OF OTHER RELIGIONS.
I ALSO HAVE A COMPLAINT -EVERY TIME I COME ACROSS A MOSQUE PPL (HINDUS AND MUSLIMS)WARN ME AGAINST ENTERING IT BECAUSE THEY SAY ITS NOT SAFE. ALSO SOME OF THE MOSQUES DONT WANT HINDUS TO ENTER THEM. YES I INTEND TO VISIT A MOSQUE TOO THOUGH I HATE THE FAC THAT ISLAM DOESNT PROHIBIT THE SLAUGHTER OF ANIMALS.
I DONT AGREE WITH ZAFARULLAH ONLY ON ONE POINT-HE SAYS THT HINDUS ARE FREE TO EMBRACE OTHER RELIGIONS. NO,NOT EXACTLY. LORD KRISNA SAYS: ONE MUST FOLLOW HIS NATURAL RELIGION BECAUSE HE WILL BE BENEFFITED BY FOLLOWING THAT RELEGION ALONE AND NOT OTHER'S RELIGION. ITS ANOTHER THING THT HINDUS CAN SEE THIER GOD EVERYWHERE BE IT A CHURCH OR A SANATANA DHARMA MANDIR. WE UNDERSTAND THT GOD IS THE CREATOR OF THESE RELIGIONS N THAT NOTHING EXISTS WITHOUT HIS WISH. LORD KRISHNA WANTS EACH TO FOLLOW HIS OWN RELIGION AND LET OTHER FOLOW THIERS. AND THE AIM OF ALL RELIGIONS IS THE SAME BECAUSE GOD IS ONE AND ONLY ONE. EVEN THE HINDU SAINTS AND AVTAARAS OF GOD HAVE TIME AND AGAIN SAID THT GOD IS ONE AND ANYONE WHO LOVES HIM IS FREE TO WORSHIP HIM IN ANY FORM. BESIDES GOD IS OMNIPRESENT.
I DONT AGREE EVEN ONE PERCENT WITH HANS RAJS FANATIC THEORY.
I WANT TO READ MORE VIEWS ON THIS QUES AND ITS A V DEBATABLE ONE SO A STAR.
BY THE WAY MY GURUJI HAS FOLLOWERS OF VARIOUS RELIGIONS AND SO HAD SAIN BABA AND HE STILL HAS.I HAVE MET MANY FOREIGNERS (CHRISTIANS MOSTLY)WHO COME TO INDIA AND FOLLOW THE HINDU PHILOSOPHY TO ATTAIN SPIRITUALITY. LOOK AT ISCKON-JUST AN EG. HAVENT U SEEN THT SOME SIKHS ARE ARDENT DEVOTEE OF MAATA?

Like all different rivers finally reaches the ocean, all pathways to God finally Reach him.
Any Spritual person knows that. India is a Spiritual nation. So Indians practice that.
But there is ofcourse many, many shallow thinkers who mock this practice as for them its a weakness, but the truth is its real strength.
