Get a grooming aid called a zoom groom. It's made of rubber. Go over your dog with it every morning and evening- it will literally take 2 mins. Do it outside and all the hair will be there. Grooming gloves are also good for this. Don't cut the hair- it will stilll shed but be short and spiky! If you have central heating switch it off- it makes shedding worse. To get hair off carpets and furnishings, don't bother with a hoover- even the dyson isn't up to it. Hoover as normal, and go over the carpet once a week with a pet magnet or rubber brush. The hair will come off easily. As a long-time owner of golden retrievers, I also suggest buying carpets to match the colour of the hair!

Get a good brush like a shedding blade or the "shed-ender" and brush him for five to ten minutes every day. It's not a lot of time, and you will see a big difference in how much hair is around the house. Make sure also that he's on a good quality diet that makes his coat look glossy and not dry or flaky. You may have to spend a little more on food, but it will be worth it.

nope not really he s a jack russel thats what they do. somethings ro reduce the amount are adding evening primrose or cod liver oil into the food they help the skin and hair. central heating in the house increases shedding as it dries out the coat. regular worming should also be done. but unfortunately that breed is the worst for shedding maybe brushing him daily will remove the casted hairs

All I can add to this is to buy a rubber grooming mit or use a rubber glove. Just use this as if you were stroking your dog and you will find that the static causes any loose/dead hair to come out. Doesn't stop the moulting but should enable you to control it a little bit more. This also works well on carpet, sofa and clothes.

I have a dog that is half jack russell and half Chihuahua. I get the large lint rollers and roll her hair as you would clothes. I rub the hair down AND up . She absolutely loves it. Every time I get the lint roller out to do my pants, etc, she wants me to do her. I do this every day. It works better than brushing. (which I used to do).

Try a cap full of mineral oil poured on the dogs' dry food, once or twice a week. It helps to prevent dry skin (which can cause excessive shedding) and make the coat shiny. My dogs loved it. It was treat to them, like gravy. Hope it helps.

Buy a good brush or slicker brush and USE it, at least twice a week -- every day is better. Be VERY gentle, try to make this a fun thing for both of you -- this way he'll learn to LIKE being brushed and it will be a LOT easier.

Good luck.

Usually, which too long for me. I believe it depends on the guy as well as his face though. Certain guys can easily pull off long hair and other folks can't.

Try stripping out the coat weekly with a McClellan stripper. I use it on my beagles and not only does it get out all the dead undercoat, (which is what is shedding), but it makes their coats very shiny.
Please note that when purchasing, you must buy either right handed or left handed.
