Atheists: Without quoting books that support evolution, explain why evolution is true. Can you?

Not supporting either argument, just pointing out the blatant logical disconnect that inspired your question.

Without quoting the bible, the answer is no. Faith by definition is believeing something that you cannot see or prove. Accepting the Bible as God's word is a matter of faith, you can either believe it or dismiss it. And without the "authority" of scripture as God's word there is nothing out there to say whether or not anyone is hell bound, or that anything exists after death. The big question is, Are you or I willing to stake our eternal destinies on what we believe?

Hell is the word that translates the Hebrew "Gehenna" or "Sheol." Traditional Christianity uses the word "Hell" to mean that place of punishment and separation from God in the life after death where those are sent who had rejected God in this life. Since Hell is a part of Christian belief, one must quote the source of Christian belief to explain who is condemned to Hell and who is not. The "source of Christian belief" is the Bible.

But not all Christians accept the notion that non-Christians are automatically Hell-bound just because they are not Christians.

Heaven and Hell are Christian religious terms; therefore it is necessary to use biblical texts when examining those terms.

pretend you have never seen a watch before. then one day you are walking through the woods and found one. you took it back to your home and opened it up to see how the dang thing worked. inside you found all the tiny components and gears that made the thing work. you concluded that every piece had to be in just the right place in just the right order to keep the time. (all this after some serious time studying it.) you would have to come to the conclusion that the watch could not have just appeared from nature, it had to have a creator. someone who knew what they were doing in order to make these parts work together. now apply that same reasoning to everything you see, hear and feel. you know they had to have been created by a creator. creation is an ultimate truth. and if you can believe in your creator, you believe in the truth of his son, and therefore is your reason to believe what the Bible tells you about his son.

Jesus Christ is God's word. The Bible is scripture. No one can condem but God or ultimatly the individual soul chooses. This is the esscence of the soul's free-well. The body -- the flesh is usless it is the soul that makes the choice. As a human and a christian I am absolutley inadequate to judge anthother with regard to heaven or hell. I do not have the ability to truly know a persons heart. All I can do is as you say quote scripture and let the chips fall where they may. I pray your soul chooses light.

Yes I can, and I will speak from experience.
I thought like you once and made fun of christians; mocked them on yahoo, would go to church and laugh at them for dancing like the idiots they were, little did I know that punishment would follow.
I started to see things I normally wouldn't have seen, spirits, I started gaining sight into the spiritual world, which you can't see because obviously your heart is so cold and closed that you're blind. I could sense people's thoughts, feelings, emotions, and sadly predict what would happen to them, not because I wanted to, because something was making it happen to me.
Pride got the best of me and I started to think that the power was of my own, and that's when things got really bad.
I started to see really weird signs, such as a figure of the "Christ" in the sky which came down and spoke to me. Trucks driving with no one in them. People were disappearing and reappearing before my eyes. I was shown that I was alone in the world, without a soul to be with me. That's when I realized that I needed help and doctors would only give me drugs which made it worse, trust me I tried them to help ease it off. So I prayed, and low and behold with a little patience I then had these things out of my life for good.
How do I know it was the god from the bible?
Because he told me. But what do I know right?
I'm just a silly little christian that wears Ozzfest Shirts and religiously follow Nine Inch Nails.

I know the truth, but I'm not going to shove it down your throat. Because you will sit there and do the same thing I once did.
I don't bother the Christians now, but I also don't join them. I never said I was a Christian, but I know the truth is all I said.

I guess I didn't really answer you're question, so let me explain more. The fact that I felt alone without a soul in the world was god telling me he is without me. He wanted me to join him. Which shows that the bible is true. Which means I don't really have to quote it to say that if it's true, it says that non-believers are going to hell, but we are all predestined by god as to where we are going in the end, so why not just become a Satanist, and then you won't have to bother with a god at all?

If we cannot quote the bible then there should be hell, so non-christians will just die. This is the same result if we quote from the bible. Just that from the bible, we know it is a torturous death.

Without the bible you will surely die. With the bible you have life eternal in a wonderful place called heaven.

Sorry, I gotta paraphrase something here. Jesus said that no one comes to the Father but through Him.

That being said, it must be noted that nowhere, even in the fine print, does He say WHEN that coming to Him had to be. For all we know it could be at the moment of death.

I have always personally held that when that last exhale is not followed by an inhale, when the steady thuddup of the heart comes to a stuttering halt, then the soul looks at the Light and sees Himself and He says, "Come. Follow Me." If you say, "yes", you're in like Flynn. If you say, "no", there's no place else for you to go but hell, which is just the absence of God.

I am a theologian, comparative and dogmatic.

Well - let's put it this way - I, as a Christian, do not know who is going to hell or who isn't - that is up to God.

I can only tell you, based on what Jesus said, and based on the writings of the disciples, that "I am the way." This is what Jesus said before there was ever such a thing as a Bible.

But I have to ask - if you're an atheist, what does it matter to you - if we can prove it? If we could, would you believe then?

Who's judging? Non Christians don't know or have relationship with God, whose HOME is Heaven. Would YOU invite a total stranger into your home? What kind of idiot would? And as God is by definition NOT an idiot, strangers get to go to the only other place available.

So why do you judge Christians for trying to introduce you to the Homeowner?

Without quoting the bible, how did you know non christian were hell bound. Can you prove that non christian are right? The question is this: without law would you be law abiding? and even with the law you still do wrong. Because no one sees break the law does that make you right.

Within ourselves we know right from wrong. Without quoting the law or our upbringing who would be right? or who would be wrong?
