They don't seem to want you to use Word when THAT'S our ONLY authority.
Think about it? the Word is what allows us to overcome.
We know that:
"In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God and the Word was God"John 1
The Word of God gives us the hope of salvation, redemption, God's love and plan, and the hope of heaven.
".... take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God:" Ephesians 6:13
We aught to know; that we are defenseless WITHOUT the Word.

"we have the CAPACITY to believe there is a greater power than ourselves"
We ALL have this capacity. We chose to excercise that capacity; and it has given us a chance of eternal life.

You sound like a little fool to your atheist friends. believing that EVERYONE of them should read a fairtale. Why don'y you people get your stories staight.
Sorry, lttle girl. I'm PROUD of my faith. I'm proud of the Word of God. It's YOU that hates to hear it. The pride you're talking about has nothing to do defending the faith. I know you all would LIKE to shut us up. But you can't beat God.

Because like in Ephesians 6:13, they don't put the armor of God on when they wake up in the morning. Maybe they've never heard of it! I'm positive that if we were ALL blessed to actually physically look AT GOD they'd never doubt Him or his power! The world is blessed with those who Believe!
Christians feel deep sorrow for those who refuse God. Because Christians believe they are not the be and end of all things, we have the capacity to believe there is a greater power than ourselves who possesses the ability to create things like planets, stars, living beings. Those who refuse to believe in God or a God, have no sense of humility or humbleness. Check that out.

I am an atheist, and I don't hate the Bible. I study it with pleasure, and I believe every educated person should be familiar with it.
What we hate, however, is the fact that while some people read the Bible to become more knowledgeable, others read it to become more ignorant. We don't accept your interpretations of it and your habits of forcing your ideas down people's throats.
Get over yourselves, por favor -- you are guilty of the mortal sin of pride. Consider for a moment that people might find fault with you, rather than with the Bible. And remember what Jesus said about the meek.

wouldn't it make more sense to ask atheists that question?
I don't hate it, I just find it a silly.
I don't believe your magic book to be true so quoting words out of it is like quoting lines from Harry Potter.
It also shows a lack of thought.
"I'm the Hogwarts Sorting Hat and I can cap them all.
There's nothing hidden in your head the Sorting Hat can't see,
So try me on and I will tell you where you ought to be.
You might belong in Gryffindor, where dwell the brave at heart,
Their daring, nerve and chivalry set Gryffindors apart;
You might belong in Hufflepuff, where they are just and loyal,
Those patient Hufflepuffs are true and unafraid of toil;
Or yet in wise old Ravenclaw, if you've a ready mind,
Where those of wit and learning will always find their kind;
Or perhaps in Slytherin you'll make your real friends,
Those cunning folk use any means to achieve their ends."
- The song of the Hogwarts Sorting Hat [ch.7 The Sorting Hat]

We don't hate it, we just wonder why you people don't understand that it has no authority over anyone but yourselves.
It is really only something we laugh about. We don't hate it.
But it does make us wonder why you all think it actually matters to us, especially since the majority of it has been proven to be false. :)
(I know I just went over your head here... so let me put it in babyspeak for you... If you asked me "How do you know Captain Crunch is the crunchiest cereal on the market?" And I answered "The Captain Crunch box clearly SAYS it is the crunchiest... therefore I have proven it to you..." Perhaps now you can understand why we consider you dunderheads. :)
Edit - Unfortunately, that logic doesn't work for Captain Crunch, either... and he is so gonna buccaneer your *** for insulting him...
Edit - Now you're gonna call him a twink? I feel sorry for you. Captain Crunch's retribution will be terrible. If only you could feel his love instead of his wrath... you poor, lost, miserable person...

Why do they hate it? Because they don't believe in it. To them, it's not the word of God, because they don't even BELIEVE in God. As far as they're concerned, it's a book of fairy tales.
I believe it IS the word of God, but I only use it when it's relevant to a question or a discussion. I understand where atheists are coming from.

I don't hate it. It just that it doesn't prove or show anything to non-believers. Yet, you keep quoting as if it proved something. It's nothing but a cop out, a way to avoid answering questions.

I don't hate it when you quote the Bible. On several occasions, I quote the KJV myself, usually to demonstrate the contradictions and inconsistencies within.

The Bible has a life of its own. Jesus said 'My Words are Spirit and Life". When we use the Word of God it often offends people. Jesus said it would !! 'The offense of the Cross'. Sounds as if the Word of God convicts of sin, and folks do not like to be convicted. The enemy of our souls has something to do with this animosity towards God's Holy Word !
