Believe it or not, the Bible does not state that masturbation is a sin. It DOES state that to lust after another person is sinful, but the act of masturbation itself is not addressed. One of the things that Christians must be very careful about is "putting words in God's mouth".
I will not go so far as to say that masturbation is not a sin. To masturbate while lusting after someone would be sinful, but my research has indicated that under certain circumstances, it is permissible to perform the act without it being sinful. The example most often cited is that some actors will masturbate before performing to get rid of unwanted erections, some people also masturbate before working to prevent being distracted by members of the opposite sex, or as a technique to induce relaxation during attacks of insomnia, and so forth. In these cases, the act is done without sin in the heart and therefore is looked at as a simple action not unlike cutting one's hair to get it out of the eyes.
If this is true, then releasing during sleep would not be sinful.

There are known reports for this to be common among males, but I am not sure about women. If you are sleeping you are in an unconcious state, therefore, you are unaware of what is going on, hence you are not commiting the act. If what you are saying is true (that you release in your sleep) I would figure you woke up and discovered that you did. If so, this doesn't sound like a sin. But if you want to certain, pray to God and ask for direction.

Nocturnal emissions, like flatulence is a part of being human. I would much rather someone released in the privacy of their own home than stunk up the place any day. Toilet humor has invaded the entertainment industry. I'd much rather watch paint dry.
As with any natural act, moderation and self control are needed. You can overdo anything and make it bad. You can deny many things and make you proud. Moderation. Enjoy your freedoms and don't let anyone judge you. Only God.

I was raised roman catholic and sex was viewed as sinful unless you were married. the reality is most of us(male and female) have sexual urges, this is perfectly normal and can be exceptionally strong during puberty.Masturbation is not a sin,it is a way to explore your sexuality...eventually you will be in a relationship with regular sex and dream sex will diminish.

It is natural.
A sin is anything that seperates you from Gods plan. Unless Gods plan for your life is to have you masterbate all the time, then it is sinful. What happens in your sleep is natural

first, try not to quote other peoples answers. the person who wrote your quote may not be the best source.
The best way to not allow yourself to "release" is to pray that the Lord would protect your mind while you rest. Yes, I do believe that masturbation is a sin but it is a conscientious decision to pleasure yourself. I'm not sure if a nightly "release" would constitute as sin but why chance it. You can always pray for protection over your mind.

Seems like a natural biological function, to me. Like drooling or eye cheese in the morning.
