Just because it's mentioned in the Bible?

Or do you have a more plausible reason to judge people's sexual preferences?

Like, for example, it's "unnatural", "Nature/God made two sexes for a reason", "It's not what we were made to do"....

Again, I find it incredibly hard to believe that the Almighty Creator and Sustainer of the Universe has a HUGE FLIPPING PROBLEM with what two consenting adults do while naked.

I guess the answer to that question would lie in whether or not God views the commitments of gay people as valid. I DON'T KNOW IF HE DOES, as I'm not God. And its not my place to say that he does or he doesn't. Jesus says that sex and lustful actions outside of marriage is sinful. Even though gay marriage isn't recognized by the masses in this country, marriage hasn't always been a legal contract. Marriage used to be just making a commitment to God and to each other. There was no paperwork or necessary ritual involved. So, if he doesn't, and this makes homosexuality sinful ... its still not anymore sinful than heterosexual relations before marriage.

I don't really feel that the anti-homosexual verses in The Bible are valid. Levitical Law was thrown out a long time ago, and the only other references to it are made by Paul -- the same guy who said that we should all remain single unless we just couldn't keep it in our pants (of course, I'm paraphrasing). It doesn't take much to see that he had some serious sexual hang-ups.

Reverend Red Mage -- I could not have said it better.

When Christians condemn 'homosexual behaviour' as a sin and contrary to God's purpose, they invariably quote the Bible to back up their arguments.

The argument goes 'Homosexuality is condemned in the Bible: the Bible is the word of God: ergo, homosexual behaviour is sinful.'

Actually, these people are not being honest. the reason they condemn homosexual behaviour is because they are homophobic, the Bible is simply an excuse.

There is no evidence to suggest that 'homosexual behaviour' either causes or is a sign of social collapse. Certainly many people even today believe it, without any facts to back up their beliefs. As Moritz Goldstien said on the subject of anti semitism, 'We can easily reduce our detractors to absurdity and show them that their accusations are groundless'.
But what does this prove? That their hatred is real.

The first and foremost reason is because God says it is wrong. He says it is wrong because it is unnatural. It goes against what He intends for humans to do. He intended for sex to be used between a husband & wife, as a means of procreation & of pleasure. He did not intend for it to be perverted in the way that the spiritual descendents of Soddam do.

Since a Christian is a believer in the Lord Jesus Christ, it is only natural that we would believe the same thing. God said it, which is really all that is required, since He is the source of Truth.

The fact that homosexuality is a preference indicates that it is a choice. Therefore, the person that chooses to indulge in homosexual activity can choose not to. The homosexual will be condemned to Hell for their own actions, not because they are homosexual (althought that is certainly a contributing factor), but rather because they do not have the Lord Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior. If they were to come to believe in Him, they would on longer want to partake of such a destructive lifestyle.

Actually, all of the above.

But from a personal point of view, physically, it just isn't natural. The reproductive organs are there for that function and it takes a male human and a female human to carry out that function. While I agree that pleasure is also a part of that function, the human bodies were designed (whether you believe creationism or evolution) specifically for the joining of a male and female. This is also very prevelant in nature as well, with certain exceptions.

Now, on the Bible side of things, I believe that question has been answered many times before, homosexuality is a sin, plain and simple.

I think the negative view stems from cleanliness laws and may be misapplied. It is my understanding that married men sometimes practiced homosexuality for "entertainment" perhaps the few verses that speak of homosexuality were written in response to this practice.

These issues of cleanliness and needing to promote reproduction are historical.

You asked, so I'm going to tell you, though I know that people are going to thumbs-down it, since mine is not the "popular" opinion to have.

The Bible is the basis of a Christian's beliefs, correct? And the Bible says that homosexual acts are a sin, many times. Therefore, homosexual sex is a sin. Period.

Hey, I didn't make the rules. I also believe that sex outside of marriage is wrong, because the Bible says it is. Sex outside of what is condoned in the Bible (within marriage) is not beneficial.

It isn't the preference that's wrong, in my opinion. I don't think we CAN help who or what we're attracted to. However, I believe that what we DO is what matters.

Being gay is not wrong according to me. Being gay is wrong according to God.

Leviticus 18:22 (King James Version)

22 Thou shalt not lie with mankind, as with womankind: it is abomination.

Leviticus 20:13
If a man also lie with mankind, as he lieth with a woman, both of them have committed an abomination:

the definition for abomination is--

a·bom·i·na·tion

–noun 1. anything abominable; anything greatly disliked or abhorred.
2. intense aversion or loathing; detestation: He regarded lying with abomination.
3. a vile, shameful, or detestable action, condition, habit, etc.: Spitting in public is an abomination.

I don't judge anyone's sexual preference. My best friend practically since birth--our parents were neighbors before we were born--is gay, and he took me to my prom. I wouldn't have done that if I had a problem with him. However, as a friend, I would at least have been able to tell him the truth. Not my opinion, but God's truth, according to his word.

I was able to tell him (and now you) that it is God who judges our actions, and it is his judgement, based on those actions that will determine whether we go on to eternal reward or eternal damnation.

God says in his word:
Galatians 6:7-8 (King James Version)

7 Be not deceived; God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap.

8 For he that soweth to his flesh shall of the flesh reap corruption; but he that soweth to the Spirit shall of the Spirit reap life everlasting.

Does this mean I will neglect my duty as his child and not warn gay people of the wrath to come? Of course not.

God did make two sexes for a reason: procreation. And no matter what biological science comes up with, or what human maneuvering takes place to get around it, a gay couple cannot fulfill God's primary purpose for putting people on the planet: to be fruitful and multiply.

So while I don't judge anyone, I feel very sorry for those who fail to reap eternal reward because of the choices they made, no matter who the person is or what the choices may have been (or are).

You can of course, continue on your chosen path, and while I may remind you and others that Jesus continues to knock on the door of your hearts waiting for you to choose his father's path, instead of yours, if you don't want to hear it, I have done my job.

A wise person once said, "Don't make a permanent decison about a temporary situation." That person was referring to the troubles Christians face in life, and how a panic response can lead to a destination God did not intend for their life. I think it applies here, too. Your lifestyle is a permanent decision, however life itself is a temporary situation. Choose wisely.

If, after learning that your choices keep you from entering into that good and perfect will of God, you choose to continue along your path, so be it. Whether you do so because you believe God doesn't really have a problem with your actions, or for some other reason, that is your decision.

But the day will come when it will make no difference whether you think I am wrong about God, or whether you think there may be some validity in what I say.

I hope you at least search for the truth.
If you believe you have found it, or you are not interested in what God has to say about it, then nothing else I say will make a difference.

God bless you.

Hope I helped.

I'm a simpleton. To avoid the obvious evils of moral relativism, the Bible is my base.

It does seem that there are multiple health issues which go along with this life style.

I don't have any issues personally with homosexuals. I certainly don't hate homosexuals.

It is not wrong according to me. I do not set the rules, God does. He is the one gays have to contend with. If in the Bible God pronounces his judgment against male and male sex, then how is it you blame Christians?
The Bible, of which many people accept as God's word,is quite clear that man/man, woman/woman sexual relations, are an abomination to God. So, now my question is, why do gays/lesbians have such a strong desire to somehow seek the acceptance of those who clearly understand the Bible written Godly view of this fact?
Their is no way to harmonize gay/lesbian conduct with the Bible, so who do people continue to attack the unchangeable?
What this type of question is really trying to do is change the belief by twisting the truth. How? because the question asks 'why is being gay wrong according to you?'
This is exactly the same tactic Satan used to trick Eve in the garden. The law regarding the fruit of the tree in the middle of the garden was absolutely clear. Yet Satan twisted this by asking 'is it really true that you can not eat from ANY of the trees?'
Your twist is thus: 'Christians, why is being gay wrong according to you?' The answer of course, is, nothing is wrong according to Christians, it is God alone who sets the standard for right and wrong, never has it been us human offspring of Adam.
Sorry, I see through your tactics, and can also clearly see who your spiritual father is.

The examples you gave are the reasons you will get. Plus a few bible verses thrown in.

NONE of which make any real sense.

Why should anyone care what goes on in another person's bedroom?

It is this question that will showcase the intelligent thinkers from the ignorant sheeple. Reading these answers will leave no doubt in my mind.
