I intend to use my new truck heavily for traveling, pulling a camper. I would like to respect the environment and get the best mileage while I do this.

Hey Snide-
I took the liberty to link you to the download for a brochure. This IS the best truck for you.:
http://www.fordvehicles.com/assets/pdf/brochures/08_Super%20Duty_Online%20Cat_NAV.pdf

The Trailer towing guide is on page 17
This will help you determine which cab/body/box will suit your needs & towing capacity. You can get it to tow all the way up to a 24500# (fifth wheel) camper. 16000# conventional towing. Useing the new 6.4 liter turbo diesel.

This new diesel is the cleanest diesel ever ! You can read about this (trademarked) technology on page 5

I know you'll want the optional (&trademarked) TowCommand System as well, see page 6

If you like what you see, I think youl love the interactive site devoted to this truck as well:
http://www.fordvehicles.com/trucks/2008superduty/reveal/

When you go drive one ...you will be amazed at how quiet this one is. I know I was !

Before you get a million other answers telling you about the "Flame Throwing" exhaust ....I'll address that up front for you. There was a problem with the initial release & a software update was required to solve that problem, but rest assured its been corrected

HAPPY CAMPING !

Just be aware that not all states sell low sulfur diesel which is what all the new trucks are supposed to be requiring.

Try one that can run on biodiesel. It's a bit cheaper and not nearly as harmful to the environment.
