Toyota sold 2.26 million cars last year...and had 2.38 million recalls.. People who automatically think foreign cars are more dependable are blinded by false media coverage and paid-for advertising in magazines. It's a shame that if one of our American car manufacturer's has a problem, the media is all over it...yet if a foreign company has one, it never seems to make it to main stream.

The bottom line is a car is only as good as the owner who purchases it. A Honda will drop a motor just as fast as a Ford if you don't take care of it. I certainly hope people start to realize it before its too late. Loosing Ford or GM would have severe consequences across the entire USA, no matter where you work or what you do for a living....

I don't think ford sucks at all. I owned a Ford Pick up, then went to a Mercury Grand Marquis, then a Mercury Mountaineer (which I still have with over 120,000 miles and still running good) besides the usual repairs expected it is a great vehicle. I did just buy a used Pontiac for a second car, but love My Mountaineer( which you know is like an explorer!) By the way my Mountaineer is a 98 ,and everyone who sees it thinks it is much newer than that!

All four of the links you posted say the same exact thing, just in a different article. They are all comparing the same exact statistics from the same research study.

My experience with Jaquars has been absolutely horrible, and since they are a Ford product it's really hard for me to believe.

As for the Toyota recalls. There were no major problems with any of the vehicles they recalled, but they were just doing to to cover themselves in case a lawsuit developed. If you check some other statistics you will see that there was a less than 0.8% chance of something going wrong with the vehicles.

If being stupid helps you not buy a ford i hope more people get stupid.Fords kill more of there owners than any car on the roads.Lets not even talk about the fires-spark plugs in alum heads-tire blow outs-and the list will never stop till ford starts to build safer cars and trucks.

I had a 1991 Ford Sierra (A Ford Merkur if you're American) and it was brilliant. Lasted forever and never broke down. Easy to fix and cheap parts too. Sad to see it go.
