Jesus said, "Go into all the world and preach the gospel to the whole creation. He who believes and is baptized will be saved." (Mark 16:15-16)

The Catholic Church believes that you can only be saved once and therefore should only be baptized once.

The Nicene Creed states, "We acknowledge one baptism for the forgiveness of sins."

The Catholic Church recognizes the baptism of anyone who was baptized with water and the words, "[Name], I baptize you in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit."

With love in Christ.

You can be baptized more than once. You can be baptized however many times you feel that you need to be baptized.
I am usually baptized once every 2-3 years. Because no matter how we try and how faithfully we walk, we still sin because we are of flesh and can never be clean enough.
So baptizim is a cleansing of our soul and our bodies and our spirits.
Go you for wanting to be baptized again! :o)

I think you can but it's not necessary unless the first time you got baptized you didn't really know what it was about and you did it because you were persuaded by someone or something. Does that make sense?

My daughter 'gets saved' about once a year, she said she wants to be on the safe side, so why not get baptized again?

It depends if the church accepts your first baptism or not. I am baptized a Roman Catholic, but reformed to a Presbyterian 5 years ago. I am not formally accepted by the church, but they accept me even if i was a Roman Catholic. I have to say baptism is important in the name of Jesus Christ.

No. Baptism makes a fundamental spiritual change in a person, which cannot be duplicated. A person is either baptized or unbaptized.

yes, there is an example in the Bible of followers of John who did not understand about the Holy Spirit so they were rebaptized when they learned new truth. Acts 19: 1-5

Why not. Your still sending across the same message. I'm saved and i want everyone to know it. That's what baptism is all about proclaiming your salvation. It doesn't save you, its just one of the many ways to tell people your saved and your not ashamed

Yeah. Most churches have you be baptised when you become a member. Even if you have been baptised somewhere else
