My skin tends to break out sometimes but overall its just dull with no glow. And i have visible pores. Its such a pity because my dress is soo nice and it will look horrid if my skin looks crap. Any tips on making it smooth and pores less noticable? Thanks

Drinking lots of water & exfoliating regularly are the key to a brighter complexion. Here are some ways to pamper your skin:

One good homemade mask recipe:
1/3 cup plain whole milk yogurt, 2 tbsp. honey & a bit of ground oatmeal. Apply a layer & leave it on for 10 mins. Rinse off w/ tepid water.

Yogurt - loosens dead skin cells
Honey - humectant w/ anti-bacterial properties
Oatmeal - optional; soothes & helps remove dry skin

Other face mask recipes for brighter skin are: crush up 6 plain, uncoated aspirin tablets and mix it w/ a little water to make mask.

Mix 6 aspirin tablets with a little aloe to make a mask.

For toner: 8 ounce bottle of distilled water add four uncoated aspirin

Witch hazel will help sweep away old skin cells, remove oil & tighten pores.

Another way to tighten pores is to apply a thin layer of PLAIN milk of magnesia to your face. Let it dry 15-20 minutes & rinse it off w/ tepid water.

You can make a really nice homemade mask with oatmeal, honey and milk. The milk and honey help to cleanse the skin and are very mild. The oatmeal gently exfoliates and will help remove some of the dull skin. Just mix a cup of dry oatmeal with two tablespoons of honey, and milk until it forms a paste, than scrub onto your face and wash off. Hope this helps, have a great time at the party!

Mix 2 tea spoons of Noxzema 60 second cleaning whip wit one of clean and clear , black head clearing scrub, apply to your face for a couple of minutes, get a facial brush and brush around ( circular motion), rinse!
try to find an Aloe Vera beauty cream, GRISI works great ( you can find it at walmart) and use it as a mask and let it stay for 5 minutes or so, remove the excess with a dry cloth.
Do it twice at day until the party day. It works great, better than microdermabrasion! and way cheaper.
Get chamomile tea and drink as much as you can every day! this will help with retained liquids in your body besides is great for your skin and hair.
Good luck!

This may sound odd but it works for me. My skin is very sensitive so I try not to use "scrubs" they tend to make me break out. Every once in a while I'll use baking soda and peroxide or baking soda and water...just put it on, massaging in a circular motion and then rinse. It is a very mild scrub (get rid of dead skin).

It's basic, but the two best things you can do for your skin are to drink lots of water and get lots of sleep. So rest! And hydrate!
