No. I have never seen a Catholic Church with dirty holy water. That's not to say there might not be a parish here and there with such an issue, but I would hardly claim "most" Catholic Churches have this problem.
If you are concerned about the quality of the holy water in your parish, alert the pastor. If there is no change in the quality after a couple of weeks, alert the Diocean bishop to this issue.

Why, has anyone ever gotten sick from it? I don't think you are allowed to drink it, it's been in the same spot since the church was built right? I don't think it's any more holy than the water I get from the tap. But... this is a good question.

I don't worry about it at all. It's a powerful sacramental. And each time we bless ourselves with it, it's an awesome reminder of our baptismal promises.
Note to cracker: someone is already selling bottle holy drinking water, but they're only charging .99 each. Link below.

Good point...maybe someone should start a business and start filtering that too like they do are drinking water...they could put it in bottles and charge 10 bucks for it.

Honestly... I am. Sometimes I can see dirt and grime floating in the water.
