I do. I am not great friends with him because I respect my fiance and do not wish to do anything that would make me look suspicious. But my ex and I occasionally talk online and just say "hey what's up?" stuff like that. I think it is perfectly fine as long as you aren't going behind the back of any guy you may currently be with.

I am still friends with my ex. We went out for 6 years and stayed mates because have the same mutual friends, although it was difficult at first its fine now and we see eachother on birthday nights out etc and he was a guest at my wedding. I still txt him occasionally and he gets on well with my husband. I dont ever think of him as an ex now so the past never gets in the way. Hes just as a friend. We did split up as a mutual agreement though, i dont know how it would be if one of you didnt want it to end. Like i say its hard seeing them all the time a first but worth it.

It's very possible. I have several ex's that I'm cool with. In fact, just a few weeks ago, at my sister's wedding, both my ex and my current boyfriend were the candlelighters. I must say, however, that the reason why we broke up and what kind of person my ex is would determine if we remain friends.

Its funny, because usually when I've broken up with somebody it wasn't pretty. But now, I can honestly say that I am good friends with all of my exes. We sometimes go out (group thing like clubs and parties), my most recent ex is my personal trainer during the off season (he's a pro footballer)...I've actually found it be one of my most promising friendships...you can share things and not worry about it being to embarrassing since they know you already. It helps if you have mutual friends and as long as they (and you) understand that its friendship only.

Yes yes yes. I have two ex's that are really close friends. One of them I hang out with almost every weekend and another we talk on the phone eveyr day. It's actually good cuz they were together they can understand each other very well. They know hwat each other wants and needs. But it doesnt mean anything is going on.

I am sort of in that same situation. I was going out with this guy, but he broke up with me (dont ask why, all you need to know is that it was really mean) but now after about two months both of us (suposably) have gotten over it. But i think its possible, but you will have to work for it. It wont come easily. She may not want to be friends and you will have to prove to her that you are worth her time again. Man i wish my ex would do that. Good Luck! :]]]

I'm really good friends with one of my exes. We've known each other 18 years and we were friends before we ever got involved. Can't throw away a friendship that's lasted that long.

The past totally gets in the way. It's a sign that the past isn't over - you're bringing the past into the present -- and it's unfair to anyone you want to have a relationship with later.

It's possible, but it depends on how the break-up happened, and you need to let some time pass first. You can't start being friends right after you separate. You need to kind of grow into the friendship after some time.
