I have noticed on here a lot that people seem to assume that when a person becomes a Christian, they are no longer able to have fun.
There really are not a lot of rules, it's not like we can't go surfing or skydiving, or go to a concert. We can do all sorts of things, just like anyone else.
I believe God is not crazy about people doing things that involve a lose of mind or body control. Like getting high or drunk.

That's a super good point! I know a lot of the time.. people will make those kind of comments about Christians (or church goers of any kind).. That they can't have fun... That's SO not true.. For one thing, you don't have to get drunk or high to have fun.. and in all reality, it's not all that fun to do those things!

The most fun I have ever had is after having become a Christian.. I got involved with lots of people.. Went to different events.. Did lots of exciting things that I had never even done before! (going to camps, concerts, big trips, etc.. Youth group events those were)..

Before I was a Christian.. I kept to myself a lot.. had some friends.. but really didn't do anything exciting, etc.. I became a Christian and had TONS of fun...

So.. Yah.. I totally agree.. People get this weird view that all we do is sit and read the Bible.. We live life too! :)

I'm muslim and I also believe God is not crazy about people doing things that involve a lose of mind or body control. Like getting high or drunk.

It's sad that drugs and getting drunk seem to be the focus of a lot of ppls lives.

Here is two verse to support your statement.

Galatians 5:1 KJV
(1) Stand fast therefore in the liberty wherewith Christ hath made us free, and be not entangled again with the yoke of bondage.
Galatians 5:13 KJV
(13) For, brethren, ye have been called unto liberty; only use not liberty for an occasion to the flesh, but by love serve one another.

I agree. I ran a marathon a few months ago. I like riding motocross motorcycles. Yes much of my time is spent doing activities at the Church or with other church people. I think that is what non-christians see as not fun. I did the bar hopping, women chasing thing. I don't view that as fun any more.

Having fun is not necessarily tied to doing things. I can have fun all by myself just thinking. It is more the sense of humor (or lack thereof) that is commented on when people criticise theists. Most seem to get offended on the drop of a hat.

i know what you mean.

people dont seem to understand that by not doing stuff like getting high and drunk, actually gives us more freedom, cuz we're not addicted to them, adn can put our energy to better things.

but of course, their not so much as "rules" in most churchs. its not like you'll burn in the pits of hell for all eternity if you take a sip of a drink
