Yes and the sting hurt like heck. A red wasp stung me on my head when I got too near the nest.
It happened when I was a little girl and I still remember it to this day.
Also been pooped on - the shoulder. Nice aim. The poop is white and doesn't stain. Thank God for that!

Yes, I have had both happen to me also. The wasp stings very frequently, the bird poop only once. I would love to see the Great Smokey Mountains but skip the bear meeting. We did have a bear in the city of St. Paul that my children had the displeasure of meeting in a small wooded area just off the Mississippi River here. Thought they were pulling my leg until the media here picked it up. Never let them wander to that area again. Not that they were supposed to be there in the first place. We have garter snakes here. I think they are cute. Wouldn't care for rattle snakes of any size.

I have experienced both as well.
When I was in the Marine Corps, it seemed that whenever we were being inspected in our dress uniforms, the birds would come out and use us for taget practice. It often happened to others, if not me. I think them birds have something against those particular uniforms, because when we wore cammies 99.9% of the time, worked outside etc... no one ever got "poop bombed"
As far as the wasps, a few times. I was a mechanic, and often people would bring in cars that were parked for a while to be repaired. A while in some cases looked like years! A few times after spending a few hours tearing apart some major part of the car... SURPRISE!!! You are being chased off by wasps. I have been stung on the hand and arms. Too bad we couldn't charge extra for the stings!

Yes to both questions. Unfortunately, I had a reaction to the wasp sting that required medical attention so I steer clear of any flying insects. I go camping with grandkids as often as we can in a real wilderness area on Colorado River and see all sorts of things....we feed raccoons and possum (we know we shouldn't); marvel at fawns cavorting in trees; argue whether it is a cayman or alligator sunning itself on log, etc.
Lots of snakes, too and it was real weird to watch a hawk snatch one up from the ground not three feet away from us!!!
God Bless

Been pooped on by my ex-husbands pet bird. It pooped in my hair as I was leaving for work and of course I did not know. My friend Rachel was so kind to tell me while we were sitting at our desks. lol Damn bird! Been stung numerous times while doing yard work. I have also seen a black bear in Colorado, in my back yard. Luckily there was a fence between us because I screamed and ran (which you are not supposed to do) like a bat out of hell, must have scared him too because he ran and never saw him again. lol Looking back it was quite funny. :)

I've been hiking and backpacking loads of times, but the only time I've ever been pooped on by a bird was on the Quad at my school.
I've gotten stung by bees, but not hornets. I hate bugs and flying things >.<
Sheesh, your adventures sound much more exciting than mine! ^_^''

LOL at Bush 2. Even nature has something to say about his policies.
Been attacked by angry wasps and bird poop. Worse has happened, but funny how you remember those things so well.
