Is this an accurate view in your opinion?

Atheists in here, (although some are pretty nasty at times, and yes so are some Christians in here) I think they want people to think about their choices, I don't think that they all believe we are stupid or deluded, but they admire someone who questions their beliefs and if they remain faithful they will respect that.
That is what I believe anyways.

You hit the nail on the head for me!If one has actually thought about it,and decides to believe in god,I have no problem except when they start with the mandatory school prayer and the other issues that try to make it mandatory to be a Christian. Many however, come on here with no knowledge either of the bible they defend, nor the science they attack, simply parroting what they heard their pastor say. It is also quite annoying to ask a sincere question, then have people attack simply because I am atheist. They say we won't listen, but when I try to,they think" I'm up to something"Go figure

To the person above me - spend a few hours trying to find where I have called someone "stupid." Really!

I like exchanging ideas. I keep trying to find a liberal christian to toss some ideas around with, I love conversations about things like souls and the nature of evil.

I pretty much know how the fundies think - I was one. They have a lot of walls up to being open minded so getting them to seriously consider something is pretty difficult.

All my life "god" was central. When I walked away from christianity, the habit of talking about "god" just remained. Maybe thats why I come here.

Most importantly, I have established friendships with many on here and I love seeing them. That's why I come back.

Seems pretty accurate.

I could care less what anybody believes, but it is easier to talk to people when they give you the feeling they actually thought about their beliefs.

My main goal, I guess, is to get people to think about freedom of religion. I think ex-Christians in the USA, and ex-Muslims in the islamic world can see best what freedom of religion really implies, no matter to what 'minority-religion' they currently subscribe. The currect freedom of religion, in societies that are completely drenched in buckets filled with only one particular god, is a hoax.

I think many are here to irritate everyone they can. even when someone asks a sincere question they are ridiculed. this forum was probably not setup for such nastiness, but some people are just miserable and want everyone to be miserable with them. I have given sarcasm and recieved sarcasm, but ultimately if i can help i will.

I agree for the most part.

If religion pretty much kept to itself, I wouldn't might it so much. Though, it would still be frustrating to me that so many people are so superstitious. My main beef with religion is that it is not benign. It affects other people's lives, especially when it tries uses government to enforce its superstitious dictates on the rest of the population.

There are fanatics with everything.
My husband is athiest and I love that we challenge what each other believes. We respect eachother and that makes all the difference

Well I think the questions have almost always included the word stupid in them and same with the answers....Stupid or lack of intelligence has been the M.O. of the Atheists here.
That has been my experience and observation.
