I'd like to rearrange my first column in alphabetical order. Unfortunately, there's associated information for each row in columns B, C, D, etc. When I rearrange it, all of the information doesn't match up anymore. How can I sort column A, and also rearrange the other columns so all information matches up correctly?

Do not select the entire column A, simply select any cell in column A, then click the sort button. This should automatically keep all the data in all the columns together.
This might cause problems with a header row, so it would probably be better to select your entire database and click data, sort. Use the dialog box to sort by column A ascending, and check the box if you have a header row.

First, I hope you have column headers. It makes life easier.
- If you select a column to sort, that column only sorts - the rest of the data stays in place.
- To sort the whole file, click the "table select" button (to the left of A, and above No. 1). This will select the whole file.
- click Data
cl Sort
- at the bottom left, click "my list has a header row"
- at the top, cl the down arrow to choose the header (column) on which you want to sort.

Highlight all of your columns, then hit Data - Sort. In the first box hit Column A then OK. All of your data will then match up.

Select all the columns you want to sort. Then click on the sort button on the toolbar (the button with the A Z and the arrow pointing downwards).
This should sort all the information in the selected columns in ascending order.

when you select SORT you should get a prompt to expand selection . make sure that it's selected. Expand selection keeps related column information together when Excel processes the sort.

when you hit 'sort' you should receive a warning that there is data next to the data you want to sort. Hit 'expand the selection' and the data will follow the sort.
