In the old country they used birds as messengers. Sometimes they would come with bad news ( i.e., death). Fast forward. Today it is believed that having birds in your house, real or otherwise, means death. It is more probable that they are looking for a nice place to build a nest. I have had a family of them, for years now, that made a home on my window sill underneath my air conditioner. I am moving soon and keep thinking about how their nest is going to be disturbed when I remove my air conditioner from the window.

The old-school myth is it means there has been a death in the family or going to be one.
It just an old wives tale, so, do not worry.
Many birds see themselves in the reflection of the window and are curious.
